@tig said: That's relatively easy! Lots of repetitive shapes. Make them as components, 1 per segment of a circle [say 24 ?], and arrange then around an axis as a radial array at 360 [Rotate+Ctrl /24 or the numbers needed]. I wouldn't try to punch every perforation unless you want true shadows to be cast. Otherwise make a transparent png of each piece and apply it as a projected material onto the mesh faces in the components Well, thanks for the advise, TIG. Yes, originally I wanted to punch every perforation, and that's what make the challenge. I tried your method using png and projected the material. but everything is distorted after the curved. The attached is what I've done so far. Far from what I wanted to achieve. [image: Ou2l_L.png]

See the videos under cuviloft for ideas. You can make the roof easily. See the first overall video second example. Stitches single lines together thereby defining the plane.

It's more easy with this crazzy free TopMod Else you can in sketchup with Artisan make a rectangular tubular forms then subdivide them [flash=420,315:25wkk97y]http://www.youtube.com/v/bvqDlLYkPXU[/flash:25wkk97y]

Must agree on the dirt! @ Alvis: I managed to model it anyway but it doesn't come as good as yours and it took me a looooooooooooooooooooong (and it's still not long enough...) time. I still wish I knew how to look at this to model this properly. Thanks for giving it a try Alvis, I appreciate Nicolas [image: fNn3_Untitled.jpg]

Well I tried the solidsolver plugin but that does not help. I found out that with ultimate unwrap using the lscm unwrap function it results in a correct mapping, but i do not have the money for that tool Can anyone help me out?

Hardly instructive I would think. . .but I did this quickly just to see if I could do it. (That is always the measuring stick after all! See my signature tag line below! ) The shape probably isn't dead on to the picture, but I drew a sphere. Cut it in half. JPP. drew a cylinder. Tweaked the shape with Fredo Scale. Bool Tools or solid tools Difference operation. Tweaked the shape some more with Fredo scale. I am sure it could really beautifully massaged (no pun intended) with Artisan or More FredoScale tool tweaking. [image: xKS5_eggbed.jpg] [image: QcEM_eggbedwire.jpg]

So, sorry guy's. This project is one on the highly confidential list and I can't share much at this time:( It's taken on different direction at this time and instead of doing a literal wave they were exploring other curvy shapes. I appreciate the efforts here which are not in vain and are helpful anycase. Thanks!

Thanks Boofredlay: I will pack this little tidbit away in case it comes up again. I figure, based on your excellent previous demos, if anybody is gonna "break" Artisan, it might be you.

Thanks Solo and TIG, I will play around with both your suggestions. I know in my head how it will be done, I just needed a visual skin over the form as in the original clay study. And best of all I have a good reason to purchase artisan!!!! Thanks again for all your help. Matte
