      That's relatively easy!
      Lots of repetitive shapes.
Make them as components, 1 per segment of a circle [say 24 ?], and arrange then around an axis as a radial array at 360 [Rotate+Ctrl /24 or the numbers needed].
I wouldn't try to punch every perforation unless you want true shadows to be cast.
Otherwise make a transparent png of each piece and apply it as a projected material onto the mesh faces in the components ☀

Well, thanks for the advise, TIG.

Yes, originally I wanted to punch every perforation, and that's what make the challenge. I tried your method using png and projected the material. but everything is distorted after the curved.

The attached is what I've done so far. Far from what I wanted to achieve.

Use Artisan or SDS to create a Proxy like this

Thank you Rich. can I use a top view picture of the object as texture on this shape? and how about the side? it will look disconnected.

      attached files?

Oh, no! It takes forever to upload a very small file. Don't know why. That's one thing weird about this site. Maybe the system is too special.

      Working on it still...

    • Anyone?a better way to make this organic ottoman?

      Hey guys,

Long time no see! I'm back! Because I miss you all so much!(Liar!) Actually, I need to make a not so organic ottoman, and I need to use the pictures I took as texture on specific places. A little bit stuck on making the organic shape while still have to keep the images on the specific places.

Anyone have a better way to make it more life-like?

      Thank you!

    • My biggest challenge so far

      Hi everyone,

Thank you for your support, especially for those who have given me helping hands.
Without you, I wouldn't be able to successfully finish my projects. Deeply appreciated.

Even though I'm able to complete all the projects I've been given, a bigger challenge is at my gate right now. As always, my boss wants me to get it done very soon. I have before Friday. THAT'S JUST GREAT.

This creep has curves everywhere  almost on any angle, I couldn't even get the core properly shaped. See what I have here(check the link):

I guess I need to find some shortcuts here. I'm still working on the core, since I couldn't get it properly shaped. I will import dwg. for those details. Not going to drive myself crazy for those detail this time, and I don't think I have enough time for that either.

    • RE: Shape bender question: bend along the inside of the curve

Oh, Adam, you are so sweet. Thank you very much for making a tutorial for this.

someone told me about the up and down arrow before, but the thing is on my Mac the up and down arrow does not change anything.

That's why its not working for you then...maybe someone can help you get the arrow problem sorted on your Mac, but until then here is a workaround...flip the arc along the red axis before running shape bender - then you don't need to use the arrow keys

yes, I was trying to do this, and this is the only way I can make it work. And Thank you.
