@rspierenburg said: Wow. That looks like quite a bit of work...can't wait to see it all finished. After looking at the animation I wouldn't doubt if it was done with Sketchup in the first place. Rob Could be, i think sketchup is perfectly for things like this, could take some shortcuts, like when it says 32x piece A, i could make piece A just 32x longer, but hey whats the fun in that hehe. We dont have components for no reason. ^^ And it looks way cooler in some exploded view if its done like in the blueprints with all the pieces imo.

@solo said: The renders look very clean and crisp (Vray is great at this)I also like the camera positions. Being married to a CKD (certified kitchen designer) I have developed a keen eye for kitchen design and to me it looks like an Ikea kitchen kit that the contractor who installed it used the existing plumbing and electrical locations and installed accordingly. thanks solo, I love your job and its great for Sketchup community to have you here. well the design is limited because: developer of the block of flats gave us limit 3000 euro per kitchen /the project is something like http://www.rnc.sk/ I got a sketch from the manufacturer of kitchen cabinets, so the design has to be simple and easy to bulid, because this use to be something like "standard"kitchen for everybody /the kitchen is in the price of apartment in this case I was not allowed to move the plumbings...exactly as you said Thanks again, any critics will help PS. sorry for english

Curious how you are working the updated modeling back into Lumion? Are you using the "reload model" button or bringing it in piecemeal? It's looking very nice. Personally a tad too much fog for my taste. A little more punch in contrast wouldn't hurt either. Another nice little trick I've discovered is adjusting the fog height to make it less visible and then playing with the fog color to achieve a faked color / white balance.

Looks good. Could I have a look at the Thea scene? @cheffey said: Stinkie, you must pickup quickly on render engines. Nah. I've bought my Vray license years ago. @cheffey said: I tested Vray but it seemed to be too complicated for me. As it did to me at first. Don't be intimidated - if an idiot like myself can learn how to use it ... Thanks for the comments, guys. This is based on my own tiny house. I like the basic arrangement inside, but the 800 SF is a bit too confining at times (especially for a book lover). [image: IsAe_100_1885aa.jpg] Modelhead: I'm hoping on successive designs, hence the "1". This has helped me to work out some details. Kurt: looking good, show us more. Eric: Thanks for the compliment. The fascia is 6". I'm debating on wether or not to add gutters. In studying the prairie style, I noticed the fascia on some appear rather thin in relation to the building. Roger: I like the idea of having overhangs wide enough to protect open windows. Now, onto the interior.

The reflective tape is a really key element when trying to work in bright sun. Here in Arizona it is almost always bright sun.

Actually I changed the color too I don't have a problem with giving credit, but with only a few edges of the original remaining someone will take a look at it and see "original model by...." and think "oh, this is just a rehash of somebody else's work, probably just added a radio knob or something". Oh well, I'll probably never get around to finishing the thing anyhow, it was just an interesting distraction for awhile. I'm back to my real love - my oldies. Cars with class and character that will still be remembered long after the stuff they are stamping out nowadays have joined the computer junk yard heap. (old man rant now concluded) Actually, to me, the classic cars are much more challenging to model well because they are so well known and everyone knows just how they should look, so your work has to be much more accurate. And let's face it, when you're creating something that only exists in your head, how is anybody going to know if it's true to what you were trying to make, for all they know you meant to make a toaster and it came out looking like a car (or visa versa) Well, thanks for your inputs, much appreciated as always.

I hope that the Free Cryengine 3 is available soon (it was said it was going to be released this month). It can export/import sketchup models... Do you imagine yourself walking in these structures in real time?

Got sidetracked again.........but had a little time this week. This is a very large house - an estate type adaptation of a flw plan from 1912. I really liked the scale / massing / siting and decided to play a little with it. I know that's blasphemy in some circles - but it really wanted it as an exercise to test some modeling/rendering techniques in su. [image: Y9tX_FLW_1912_sc-10A-comp.jpg]
