Do we not all LOVE file corruption, something from childhood springs to mind about being sent to try us. It was VERY succesful in this case. Tried again, something with cleaner and sharper lines but to my mind it comes across as a mustang coupe want to be. Oh well, car designer I am not. [image: KjB3_SportsCoupeAgain2.jpg]

Keep it coming @swagen said: Where in the whole wide world did you find that awesome blue-print? That was an incredible sketchup model! Errrr, what blueprint?, did you see a blue print? Uh,...where was it? Did you mean the drawing of the skeleton? Is it a blueprint of a Trisera? I would like to see the blueprint also. Are you talking about this model here in progress, or a different model. I'm obviously confused. Help me out here. What blue print? Duh!!! Lloyd thank you thanks again for visit maybe a few more days I'm doing this model will start again.

Vray for 3ds max, but you could achieve an identical floor with just about any decent render engine. It's an Arroway concrete texture that I've tweaked to suit my purposes (adjusted specular map & used procedural noise as a bump, rather than the .jpg provided by arroway) Hope to get a little more done on it tonight. Fingers crossed.

@slimdog said: Looks great. Cant wait to see the final project done. Do you just do the modeling or do you hammer nails and do project management? I modeled a small pump track for a costumer last year was way smaller but same ideas. Somebody please kill instagram. Cheers S i do it all.. first and foremost though, i consider myself a carpenter.. the computer is just another tool and the drawings are a means to an end.. (and my models aren't necessarily for others to read because i don't draw all the details or things that don't need worked out.. i generally just draw the key surfaces and/or templates etc then make cutlists from there.. that said, the computer does make the job a lot less stressful.. i can generate most of my numbers at night without all the saws/drills running in the background then just divvy up the cuts the next day.. plus, it gives me more confidence to build more complex structures because the computers can keep track off all the numbers etc so i don't have to focus so much on each little aspect..) but i also consult, sell, conceptualize, design, generate working drawings when necessary, estimate/order materials, lead the crew (of 8-10), project manage, and probably a few more things i'm forgetting at the moment re: instagram.. dunno.. it's way better than Facebook (at least for me)

Hope you had a good change of year I showed your work to some students who were at a christmas dinner. I told them I would bring some more examples of SU models and they are particularly interested in game applications. I captured several screen shots of your barns and printed them to show since there was not going to be a computer available at the dinner. They were very impressed with your work and were very glad to see the development from the initial model to the very dark and sinister version with the red light inside. They were also interested to learn of independent game developers having only thought that there were only large companies producing games. I gave them the addresses of the developers web site, and I'm sure they will go look at them. I'll let you know of any feedback that I get from them. I've retired from teaching except for some photoshop training I do through my photography business. I've only begun working in SU. You are way ahead of me. I got the local Highschool to incorporate SU in their curriculum so I have occasion to talk with students about SU and encourage them to do challenging models. I'll try to attach the composite I made to show the students. If it doesn't upload properly, I'll try again with a smaller file size [image: Y7t8_ManiacHollowDevE.jpg] Lloyd

@marian said: Nice work, I like this one much better than the 1st roadster, it has an interesting combination of muscle car and hot rod. Thanks. I know what you mean, I look at the first one and say "Jeez, what was I thinking". I did like some things about it, the interior was pretty good. But hey, I learned from it, and that's always a good thing.

I am interested, and I see Corel Painter as a natural compliment to Sketchup for illustrative works -- but IMO the capabilities of Sketchy Edges needs some work to be usable at print resolutions (which is where I would want to use them). I made some comments to similar effect here: https://plus.google.com/113398955876222975947/posts/5rC7pizKxvs Best, Jason.

I used Thea Render. I'll probably use the holidays to tidy up and compile my model tree library, so later next week I'll try out the forest scene I suggested. I might try doing it just using an HDRI as well.

@chris fullmer said: So for me, I think the render quality is decent, its the details of the model and image composition that are missing. Good luck! agree
