No cars. I still haven't downloaded and installed Artisan nor learned to use it. Along with several other plug-in that are probably causing me the despair between what I want and how to get there. Right now I really need to learn connect by rails and Artisan. My problem is my 10 hour workdays leave me drained and not much time to search out and practice the tutorials.

Regarding modelling with Artisan making cars, I actually find it harder to add alot of detail before you SDS. I found making windows easier using 'intersect with selection', but thats just my preferred method. Thanks to all who have helped me become more comfortable with Artisan, Marian's tutorial (hard) work especially.. thumbs up

@marian said: Btw....they're rebooting Batman again. I think they want to make a Justice League movie a la Avengers and they need to fit all the other heroes. Geez they've just finished the trilogy... I don't really mind all the reboots, sometimes they turn out pretty good. To be perfectly honest, I never really cared for Christian Bale that much. My favorite was Michael Keaton. 'Spose Arnold is too old to give it a shot?

Here too: awesome job on the great variety on wheels and even more respect that you share it all Did you make the wheels as dynamic components so you can easily modify the with/height? I'm also stunned by your texturing qualities. Do you use special UV-/texture plugins for this or just all nstandard SU-tools? Must admit that you inspire me in car design and diversity

Heres a simple test of the the sketchup created character in XSI by Joshua Blazer from seattle, a simple but early test, as you can see from the animation the mesh is slightly breaking up, i put this down to non welded edges so they will need to be welded/glued, which ever term you prefer, also the fingers dont bend as there are no creases on the fingers to allow joints to bend but i will addreas this also, not a bad test but it is effective for its first test if i do say so myself, so any suggestions for the best method of welding edges in SU, i see there are more than 1 method, im aware it can be imported into blender and done this way but im lookng for an SU way around this and weld the edges in SU and export the model with the welded edges for 3D MAX and XSI. Redid it to make it better suited for gaming. In essence I made it of components to lower the poly count. Anyway here it is in sketchup and in 3DS Max. [image: 2zhl34n.jpg] [image: x6a53q.jpg]

Looks good. I would tweak the floorboards. For me are too bold and close to vinyl floor. PS. Sorry thegreek87 - I'm a carpenter by trade...I love wood - OK, you can ignore me... Regards

Awesome renders, really like the mood of the first, maybe a bit of variation in the trees in background.

Thanks Carloh The texture runs at the same angle. The problem you can see is an optical illusion caused by the camera focal length and the slope of the wall.

lookin good...one thing: i think the grooves of the ground are to wide, as the chairs can get caught in them, maybe scaling the texture can solve that.

I generally use just perspective. The whole trick is composition, i.e. how you fill the "frame" with the subject matter. Filled and finished foreground and backgrounds are also key in making a pleasing scene. Then you can work on camera "angles", which is just placing the camera. I am by no means as good and some here when it comes to picture composition, but the above are just basic principles.

Well I tried the Ivy Plugin and I have to say I'm pleased with the results. I was just wondering if there was a way of modifying the leaf models, that are used in the plugin, so that they are just an outline of a leaf. That way they they might cast a leaf shaped shadow. They are now just square shaped polygons, with a leaf textures, that cast a square shaped shadow. I tried to modify the models within the "textures" folder so the the lines of the polygon followed the leaf texture's outline( simplifying the contours as much as possible) , but it didn't seem to work. I feel like and idiot, asking you guys this question, cause you guys have helped me so much. My model is now at a stage such that I can make it function in my portfolio as I intended it to. There are enough light patches between the shadows to demonstrate my concept. PS. TIG, Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it, and that you cared enough to make an example model. Unfortunately I needed to cast shadows with something much more complicated than a fence. I was using the fence as an example. But, perhaps your plugin may still be helpful for tidying up the vines( not sure yet, gotta see how I may be able to refine the cast shadow more).
