[WIP] Open Box House
-
I've been wanting to model this house (designed by A-Cero architects) for ages and finally managed to get hold of some plans.
99% of the modelling is complete (I've just spotted a couple of additional things I need to do) and here's my progress so far....
Firstly here's some output from SU:
Some quick biased renders (no work done on materials yet):
Here's some furniture - based on designs by the architect - modelled especially for this scene.
-
Nice!
-
Thanks - not had much time to work on this, but I should have an update with vegetation and material additions tomorrow.
-
Managed to make a little more progress today...
-
Even better!
-
Thanks!
Here's some more progress. Lot's of trees added, as well as entourage buidings, and I re-did the grass from scratch.

Working on lighting and camera composition:

nice project! may i ask which render program you use?
-
I'm using Thea with a little colour adjustments and DOF in Photoshop.
-
Verrry nice!
-
Nice one! where did you get the tree?
-
If you are referring to the Cloud tree, then I created it using two different Xfrog trees: the up-scaled and subdivided trunk and branches from a Bonsai plant and a box bush. Because of the poly count I did this using Thea's studio.
The trees I used come from the free download examples found here:
I did have an idea for creating the tree in SU, but didn't get around to it.........should be a good mini-project for a rainy day.
-
Here are my final two renders for this project.
-
very nice atmosphere...one thing is popping in my eyes: has the texture of the smaller box with the window a different heading as the rest? it seems like the angle is different.
-
Thanks Carloh
The texture runs at the same angle. The problem you can see is an optical illusion caused by the camera focal length and the slope of the wall.
