I like the B&W, perhaps as long as no one else does it, but how does it affect the product's performance? Sigh its 5:47am and I haven't yet got to sleep. Btw, Last time I looked, I didn't see a price tag. Bet that's harder to set then the color of the menu.

From SketchUp to SketchUp? You can do it manually. Open the file you want to import. Select all the Layers (except Layer 0). Delete. You will get an option to delete the geometry or move it to the default layer. Choose to move it to the default layer. Save the drawing. Open the other drawing, import the file. It should come in as a component. Place the component on the layer of your choice. If you want all the entities in the component on this same layer, edit the component, select all the geometry, move to the same layer. I use this process when working with AutoCAD imports. Bring it into SketchUp, clean it up, strip all the layers, views, excess components, etc. Get it all on Layer 0. Bring it into my working drawing.

If i may add my two cents worth... I have been able to produce 'height maps' of terrain studies using a projected texture. This could basically be used on any 3d object Method: 1.Basically you create a color/grayscale gradient image in photoshop or otherwise, 2.Import into sketchup as a texture onto a vertical plane (rectangle) that represents the extent of the terrain. The vertical extent of this rectangle is more crucial than the horizontal. 3.Once you have the texture on the rectangle, go to the edit texture context menu and click on 'projected'. 4. Then sample the projected texture off the rectangle... choose all the surfaces of the terrain and apply. Voila! additional tips: A:Do not apply the sampled projected texture to a group, it will not apply properly. You need to assign the material directly to the faces. B:When making the vertical rectangle to represent the extents of your terrain it helps to overshoot the exact size a bit both top and bottom so that you don't pick up the extreme edge of the color gradient and start of the next tile of the gradient which can sometimes render as a dark colour. This can obviously be done with a grayscale gradient too which i imagine could be used to generate a displacement map (exported jpg from a top view) similar to what Dave R and jopsa2 have been talking about. Also in comparison to Chris's Color by Z plugin, although this is not technically a plugin, its avoids a multitude of generated materials, instead this one uses just one... so its Vray friendly too. Attached is a sample image for reference. Hope this helps. Dave [image: P1qU_heightampdisplacementmap.jpg]

Update to version 1.2 Previous versions started off each session with arbitrary default values in the dialog box for the Superellipse parameters. This version remembers your last dialog box values between sessions.

I understand that is easier to convert a skp file into a file format supported by the cnc software than writing that code in sketchup .. The point is that when exporting from sketchup to other formats u don t know exactly what sketchup export, and usually u get lot of problems because the formats are not 100% compatible. U,probably, need to check them there as well .. So far i intent to use the sections i cut from my car to achieve the car shape manually in foam. It would probably be much better to start learning some cad-cam programs but they are too hard for me..and in sketchup i really feel inspired(that s why i still stay on it). Thanks! Elisei

Yes, I remember your rubys and I was thinking to them when I said this could be doable. I don't think that I need a lots of rays, because I'm working on large landscapes, so I do not need a lot of precision. But As I don't know how it works, I don't know if you can control the rays the way you want...And if the plugin can be used for other purposes, maybe It's good to keep enough rays... Anyway the way you described it could be good for me : @unknownuser said: added a point on a surface and then 'joined-up-the-dots to make a 'seen_area' group I'll give a look again to your rubys. Thanks anyway.

Thank you very much to everyone who responded - you have resolved my issue. Here's what I was doing wrong: I would go into finder, click on "Applications," and find "Sketchup 7." Then I would open up that folder, find the Sketchup icon, and right click to review "Show package contents." I would then put my items in the plugins directory. And POOF! Nothing would happen. As several of you suggested, I should have instead browsed to Users-blahblah-library-application support, ect. Putting the plugins here fixed the problem! Again, thank you to all who helped me resolve this issue.

The problem lies in: SketchUp-Ruby + knowledge -Find the correct algorithm Key points: Digital Model-Building Rooms extract Coordinates of wall edges in the same coordinate space of the rooms transform -Nearest Neighbour Search, depending on the amount of data, two-step procedure, First nearest neighbor and only then take into account nor the normal Wall view from above: A wall is defined as two pairs of opposing surface area (front side and back side) include a hollow space. Thank you

chango70 You can set limit of count plugins in use! In my opinion, It's just not convenient to have so many plugins for work when context-menu does not fit completely in the screen !

@jim said: @thomthom said: That extensions.rb file should not be there I believe. It belongs to the Tools folder. True, but as long as it is on the load-path, it should still work. Oone of the beta testers reported problems loading my Vertex Tools, it came down to that he'd copied files from the Tools folder around. I still don't understand why, because I'd given the Extension class a fixed path. But yet it didn't manage to load the correct file.
