This is just my observation from personal use. If one were to regard the model environment as a stage scene with a camera in first person mode, it would become clear that the cursor, whether in zoom or orbit or select directs that camera where to look. Clicking on empty space confuses the camera function and its directives become random. I have noticed this while zoomed in tight and then activating orbit-- suddenly my scene sweeps far away from where I was. Or scrolling out can sometimes do the same thing. Bottom line. The camera needs definitive input or it behaves randomly.

@unknownuser said: @unknownuser said: I've installed select instancev2 by M. Bekhor, downloaded from: http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/plugin_details.php?id=365 (I find this plugin one of the more powerful instance selection tools). I am trying to assign a keyboard shortcut, but I can't find the command in the shortcuts list. How can I do this? Is there something I'd need to update in the plugin to make it reachable in the shortcuts list? Thanks!! you probably have to select (something) prior to going into the shortcut list. ie- select what the script requires you to select prior to activating the script. Thanks! that worked! come to think of it, it's the same when you want to assign a shortcut for flipping along axis of components!

Hi TIG Thanks for your input. As i wrote, I was looking for a script that could split a face so it became a part of the model as lines, so they could have the same style as other lines in the drawing. I hoped that protrude would help me - but I can't get it to work I have added an image that shows the result - I have to add the lines manuel. [image: G7W3_nrregade2010091404small.jpg]

Assuming you mean "..using $x in..". Anyway I rewrote the code with @variable for those that have to be available for different procedures. Typo fixed [I an conditioned not to type $ in front of a variable name!!!]

Until that magic tool is revealed, you could use Chris Fullmer's exploded arc centerpoint finder, or I believe it is Jim's ArcCenterpoint. Then do a copy rotate on the selected arc about that centerpoint. Basically, get the centerpoint and rotate copy to taste.

I recently learned the script language i used to write this, which is called AutoHotKey, gets flagged by a lot of people's anti-virus software. Be assured if you saw this there is no virus, but I've removed the executabele and posted just the source code.

Found this plugin by daiku which allows a shortcut for rotating 90s around different axes: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=9739#p61660 Exactly what I was looking for. Just wish I could do it at the same time as placing a component, but that doesn't work. I'm going to ask in his thread. Tor
