Re MEMORY STICK

This should be possible. You should be able to copy the contents of C:\Program Files\Render Plus Systems\3D_PDF onto a memory stick, place it into a computer and run skp_to_3d_pdf.exe from the memory stick.

We will give it a try.

However, I can think of a few problems.

If we discover what they are, then they can be copied onto the memory stick and that may work (or we may have to create a new release of 3D PDF with the missing DLLs)

I don't know how we will solve this problem. We can discuss it after you get the comcept working properly.

There are 2 other solutions to the general problem.

You can "remote log in" to your own computer, which is licensed for RPS 3D PDF from the client machines, run RPS 3D PDF remotely, load a file from the client machine and process it.

You can bring your portable computer with you to the client location, put the .SKP file from the client machine onto your portable, and use your portable to create the PDF file.

Shadows would be "possible" in RPS 3D PDF - but very difficult for us to implement.

U3D, (the underlying format), itself, does not do shadows (as far as we know). If anyone has seen other 3D PDF products which do shadows, let us know.

So, to do shadows, we would have to places textures on each shadowed face which already had the shadows on them. This is "possible", but very difficult, and it would probably create a PDF file which was too large to use properly.

We have seen some approaches which use .AVI movies, rather than 3D PDF to create presentations with shadows. SketchUp can do this with sun shadows already, or you can use IRender to create movies with reflections and shadows from point lights as well as the sun.

lol, now that you mention it, i dont know what i was thinking when i first built this...
It took me a while to recognize where i got this shape from, and then it clicked that is was based off the chain links that LEGOs use....

This brings to mind the stemless, round bottom glass that is new on the market. It will tilt and you can even spin it, but it wont spill, supposedly. From the looks and feel of it, the bottom interior thins as it rises, giving all the weight to the bottom, it seems.

Yes I've seen you posted it inn the gallery. Nice gazebo indeed! (and surely I have the player and the teleporter, too 😄)

I'm on a T1 and it took quite a long time to download then was extremely sluggish.

Seems this one doesn't work for us cheapskate Google SU folks due to lack of the proper 3D exporter.

When you say registered do you mean you have registered copy of Podium or registered to forum?

2point perspective is not supported at moment. However if you wish to render wide lense follow the instruction above. It will allow you to be in the room and see more.

edit: we are looking into 2point perspective. Can't promisse you when it will be implemented.

Yup 99% Podium, one or two Vue renders.

RPS 3D PDF works only with .SKP files.

We have had requests from other CAD software to provide a similar capability, and have send them some price quotes. But, so far, no takers.

Many people are using RPS 3D PDF quite successfully.

But there are some known problems:

Model size models of 15 to 20 meg with about 100,000 faces and/or models which contain large background images or large texture images can create a problem.

We do not process edge lines as well as we would like to.

A couple of people this week were unable to use the software because of some missing DLL's

Some changes between SketchUp page views - such as layer changes are not processed by the PDF file.
