@ely862me said: The camber is the curvature of the side profile, the core is the longitudinal middle section and the outline is the top profile. As I said in my first posts. Intersect the profiles and run shape bender. It's exactly what I what to do! You were right with your first answer... I tried it but I made a mystake and it didn't work but now with your picture I can correct it! I would like to thank all of you!

Thank you very much for your quick answer Mitcorb. The answer was even simpler than I thought. About changing the size of the triangles: I already used the add detail tool to increase the number of triangles, but what I meant (sorry if I couldn't be clear the first time) is: is there a setting or a technique to choose freely the size of the triangles composing said mesh when I get it from Google Earth? Thanks again for your time.

ah.. okiedokie - I realized that I was treading in off topic waters .. I have both adblocker and ghostery disabled for all of sketchucation.com - didn't know about the buysellads.com site. If adding that one to my exceptions list doesn't work, I'll toddle down the hall to browser land thanks TIG

Also have a look at these threads about. They probably don't add a lot more to what you already learnt from Ely and others, but could be helpful. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=335&t=37611 http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3961&p=19894#p19894 http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=2650 Tanks http://giganaut.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/ Planes (download the archive file included in the first post as the links don't work anymore) http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13036&p=95245#p95245

Attacking the SKP or an an image of the problem would hep us help you... You could look at a number of possible solutions. Revert to the '2d' base face shape and scale selected parts, or select and move parts. Th round hole corners give it a face and round them with a fillet arc, erase the unwanted edge parts...

No worries! Just one thing, if you draw your model in a metric template and dimension it, you can save it and then drag the saved file into an imperial template and the dimesions will automatically convert to feet and inches for you. [image: VH2P_Samefiledifferentunits.JPG]

Hi Meezo, I use a MacBook Pro for SketchUp. I would have some doubts about the performance of the Mac Air. It probably will do for what you need. I suggest that you ask the Apple dealer to download SketchUp at the store and load one of your SketchUp files. Then you can be sure it it works for you. Money is tight these days .... tell me about it I have purchased my last two MacBook Pros from the Apple Refurb Store. The computers are as good as new and have been discounted up to 15%. I see you are located in the USA, so check out this link, http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac It should be possible to get a good spec refurb MBP for the cost of a new Air. Here are a couple of screen grabs I did! [image: QxOc_13.3MBP.png] [image: Q6SS_15.png] I'd say, go for the 15". Mike

Like said, these kind of works are often a composite of a render and postpro in photoshop (or similar app). In this case, there are topics on Thea Render forum and here in sketchucation that do explain the process in some degree. From the topic at Thea Render forum you can even find some pure test renders, so you can get a idea about how much postpro work is done. Btw the birch tree model is downloadable to registred users of Thea Render.

hi tig, ok, you are right, puts does it automatically. the declaration of the variables happens in the beginning of the ruby, first loaded from the default file and then possibly changed by the user... these settings then create the geometry and are saved to a separate file (later as function : reload last user parameters). will just try the puts-version. stan EDIT: IT WORKS parameters are saved at the end of ruby and automatically reloaded on start wonderful!
