About changing the size of the triangles: I already used the add detail tool to increase the number of triangles, but what I meant (sorry if I couldn't be clear the first time) is: is there a setting or a technique to choose freely the size of the triangles composing said mesh when I get it from Google Earth? Attacking the SKP or an an image of the problem would hep us help you... You could look at a number of possible solutions. Revert to the '2d' base face shape and scale selected parts, or select and move parts. Th round hole corners give it a face and round them with a fillet arc, erase the unwanted edge parts...

Hi Meezo, I use a MacBook Pro for SketchUp. I would have some doubts about the performance of the Mac Air. It probably will do for what you need. I suggest that you ask the Apple dealer to download SketchUp at the store and load one of your SketchUp files. Then you can be sure it it works for you. Money is tight these days .... tell me about it I have purchased my last two MacBook Pros from the Apple Refurb Store. The computers are as good as new and have been discounted up to 15%. I see you are located in the USA, so check out this link, http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac It should be possible to get a good spec refurb MBP for the cost of a new Air. Like said, these kind of works are often a composite of a render and postpro in photoshop (or similar app). In this case, there are topics on Thea Render forum and here in sketchucation that do explain the process in some degree. From the topic at Thea Render forum you can even find some pure test renders, so you can get a idea about how much postpro work is done. Btw the birch tree model is downloadable to registred users of Thea Render.
