Really the only way to control line width in exported raster images is to change the export size. The smaller the exported image, the thicker the lines will appear. You can adjust profile edge weight in Styles but that only deals with some of the edges. You might play with the Straight Line styles and see if they provide you with something use can use. The alternative would be to spring for the Pro version so you can export vector lines and adjust their weight in some other application or go through LayOut. Hi Martin, hi folks. If you observe the text that SketchUp (SU) is showing in the status bar, to the left of the dimension window, you will read, immediately after you select the From Scratch Tool: Select the first corner of the Sandbox or input the grid spacing of the Sandbox. SU is constantly trying to help with these messages when selecting and when executing the different steps of any operation. Just ideas.

I had sent this to sketchup and after a lot of convincing I was not looking for modeling strategies he tried the specific set of steps I suggested and was able to replicate it and "sent it up to engineering" I have not heard anything since.

@Fiona The Layout Spellchecker uses Win 8's cross-app built-in Spellchecker. So a Win 7 equivalent is not possible as that OS has no built-in Spellchecker. However, I have Win 7 AND I have Spellchecking/Auto-correction in all apps - including Layout AND SketchUp ! This is done using an AutoHotKey tool. I have actually made it into an exe which then auto-loads from the Startup folder as Win 7 starts. Then in any app, as I type it is checked and corrected. I can add new rules using Win_H key combo... This page explains details and links of to download the ZIP... http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/45068/how-to-get-spelling-autocorrect-across-all-applications-on-your-system/ The AutoHotKey main page itself: http://www.autohotkey.com/ There are other similar 'Spellcheck' tools in AHK too, but I just like this one...

Good work. So remember to draw on Layer 0 only, make a component or group of the geometry and assign a layer to that component or group and everything should go smoothly.

@box said: There is a simple workaround for this that people often miss. Just draw a circle around your group of faces and extrude that. Tiny bit of clean up and reversing of faces and away you go. Haha.. I like this trick. I'll give it a try, I never thought about this technique before. Thanks for sharing

TIG/Allan, Thanks very much for this tip, it works perfectly! A note to others - if you export just the edges, arcs & circles will be translated into DWG arcs & circles. If you export faces however, they are exported as a segmented polyface mesh.

@coolair said: Maybe i should find an earlier version... that won't make it easier, in fact it will be harder, things have improved with each new version... if you can, install v2015 for the least issues, then read up on the many threads explaining how to instal plugins... the methods for v2014 and v2015 are the same, but make sure you only add 'version compatable' plugins. cross posting with dave, but will carry on john
