Hallo,
In attached drawing I have created a ship's crane.
Basically the crane consist of 3 main components , each inside eachother.
Component 1 - Crane Complete. This entire component consists comp. 2 and 3 and is able to rotate all over the Zaxis.
Component 2 - Boom. This component is inside comp.1 and is able to rotate over the Yaxis together with component 3.
Component 3 - Hook. This component is inside comp.2 and is able to move up/down by Zaxis.
Comp 2 and 3 are linked to each other is such a way that the Block(comp 3) always stays under the end of the Boom(comp 2).
So far so good after quiet some brainwaves.
If I click in component 1, I can only use its own dynamic options. (The options of comp 2 and 3 are not visible).
The reach component 2 dynamic options, I have to go deeper inside comp. 1 to reach comp. 2 and same for comp 3 to go even 1 step deeper.
I would like to see all dynamic options in 1 window at first click on component 1.
Can't figure out how without messing up movements.
Very important is that when rotating comp1 , comp.2 and 3 move along.
Yeah Box thank you.
I found this out later also. Good tip.
I will for sure also try pbacot's idea to get Make 2016.
Hi
I am using Sketchup 2013 version only.
When downloading models from the warehouse, most models are made by newer versions and do not work on mine.
Is there a seperate warehouse for older models, or settings in warehouse?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
is there any way to turn the animated play into slideshow for the windows 7 background?
Now I save each scene as a seperate 2d picture, but with rotating objest it's nicer to have the scene animation displayed on the desktop.
Hi,
I have deleted the imported object from my model and the nest has disappeared aswell.
Must have been something to do with that. Anyway thanks for your interrest Unearthed.
Hi,
In my model I found an empty nested object. When using the orbit to rotate the model, certain items are showing as nested object to re-appear normal after releasing the orbit.
There is also 1 unidentified nested object outside of my working space. I can not select anything in theis area, so I can also not select the nested item.
The nest appeared after I have cut out an imported component. The box of the component was way bigger then the itmen holding it, so I just cut the itme loose from the component and paste it back outside of its own component. Left me with this mysterious nest whithout any contents.
I can not select it or whatsoever. Showing hidden geometry does not show anything.
Anybody has an idea how to get rid of this junkbox?
Hi all,
I am creating a terrain using sandbox from scratch. However when I first draw the area, the raster I get is very big compared to what I need to draw. Each "tile" is 3.00m x 3.00m.
I need a much finer raster to start with. Can I change these settings somewhere , to change it to 0.5m x 0.5m?
Hi Andrash,
Here are 3 different ways of looking into your wardrobe.
Option 2 and 3 are using Dynamic Components, and thus you need a Pro version for that.
Make the walls transparent like Cotty says. Even on double walls this work, as long as you add the transparent material on both walls. The inside material can stay original solid, this does not affect the visibility from outside.
Use of Dynamic component in a drop down menu. select the Component Options and click on the back wall. A dropdown menu pops up with the choice of wall material (This case glass or solid).
Use Dynamic components OnClick behaviour. just select your interaction hand tool and click on the wall. This toggles between solid and glass material.
Hope it's usefull for you.
