Okay actually the lines are many many segments......they are one polyline in CAD so not sure why they came in that way. I discovered if I use simplfy contours but instead of the default 10, i use 1, its almost perfect but not still problems in some sreas with the tin not touching the contours. the computer freezes if I try to use sandbox without simplfy first

Oh I see. OP types the height AFTER choosing the plane. Instead If one chooses "position camera", then type height of person's eyes above the surface, THEN click surface you don't need to add in the height above ground plane. That's how I do it.

Try welding the lines. Curvizard will let you batch weld them.

@rudbeckia You can try with JoinPushPull, Vector mode with the option Project to plane, as shown here. Otherwise, enclose the terrain in a big box and Intersect / cleanup Fredo

You should consider downloading a demo version of Rhino and running the Shell command. I'm assuming you're just printing the outside volume of these buildings, therefore you don't need floors. Shell will do what I think you're looking for.

Can you point me in the right direction with the shadows, having a hard time getting the shadows right. Is there a trick to the shadows in photomatch?

@ross macintosh said: Hi Rudbeckia I rather like the FormFonts styles but being their creator I'm probably biased. I attach an example showing one of my favorites. It is known as the Fineline Ink Sketch style. Click on the image for a bigger version. Regards, Ross Thanks! Yes the styles on the site look great, doing some research for my company........do you have a student price for when I go back to school

@ecuadorian said: If it's a Dell, it might really explode. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32550 http://blogs.smh.com.au/mashup/archives//005359.html http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/08/dell_fire.html Just joking; it's not only Dell laptops which can explode. The problem is in the batteries. Some other manufacturers have experienced similar problems, even Apple: http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/macbook_inferno_an_apple_macbook_battery_catches_fire.php http://altatecgt.com/blog/2006/09/08/macbook-se-une-al-club-de-las-quemaditas/ http://www.nowhereelse.fr/macbook-explosion-16747/ http://www.crunchgear.com/2007/06/27/disaster-on-the-homefront-macbook-pro-battery-explosion-no-images/ http://www.appledefects.com/?p=259 Just to be on the safe side, why not assemble a desktop PC for rendering? And please, don't put your "laptop" on your lap. its not a dell its an HP and it runs fabulously compared to the dell i had, are those all linke to computers exploding?? dont want to see that i may be scared to render then!!

@chris fullmer said: Here's a few suggestions: Make sure they are all actually over the top of the terrain. They will get stopped by hidden geometry and I think even layers that are turned off. Try selecting those that did not drop and keep running the script on them. There is a good chance that many of them will drop the 2nd or 3rd time. Maybe something there will help? Chris thanks for the help! i got most to drop guess i will just do the rest by hand it wont drop the Land FX trees, it makes them go up and down and everywhere in bt, weird, maybe the ruby was not designed to work with land fx

@unknownuser said: @rudbeckia said: just curious though if i need to use it again, it is normal to make the program crash alot it seems pretty stable to me on my computer.. it didn't crash when i used it on the file you posted (and what's happening when JPPing one of those elevations is basically like trying to push/pull 500 separate faces at once).. i use it with confidence but anytime i'm about to save myself 20+ minutes worth of manual drawing by doing it in one click via a ruby, i'll make sure to save the file first. thanks for the info!!
