Not as frequent as that. But because I test extensions between SketchUp 2023 and 2025 I encounter the Trimble login a few times a week. I don't think its tied to a browser. I always thought SketchUp was pinging Trimble when you start it and because I'm switching versions it eventually goes 'let's just check if this is suspicious usage'. I don't know though. I've kinda gotten used to it. But I'm using the from the perspective of a single user so I can't say what happens in a corporate type environment when it comes to validation. A few times a day seems excessive.

Hi everyone. Thanks all for sharing your ideas and solution. I just discovered that 2024 is now versionless! Good, thanks Sketchup developers. I guess this will apply to older versions after 2021. Shadows are expensive in any real-time engine whether photorealistic or stylised. Unless they implement a cascade type shadowing method you see in game engines then the long waits will always be here. I hoped we would see a 'smart' shadowing that culled shadows to those visible in the viewport camera. What I tend to do is set cast shadow/receive shadows off in places where shadows do not need to be calculated. Only thing is this setting is not saved per scene so its like chasing your tail.

When you open the file from File Explorer you need to wait for SketchUp to ping the license server and then load extensions before even starting to open the .skp file. With File>Open in SketchUp, the license checking and extension loading has already been done so you don't need to wait for that. This is a change to the way Hide works that was made to make it possible to use Hide instead of controlling visibility with tags. You can now hide and show objects through Outliner because of this. It does make this a scene property, too. Look at the Properties to Save options in the Scenes panel. Like all other Properties to Save, if you change one of those properties for a scene, you have to update the scene. Tags are still a good way to control visibility but with the separation between hidden objects and hidden geometry, you now have much finer control of what is shown in a scene without having to have so many tags. You might have a read through the Release Notes for SU2020 especially under What's New in Sketchup 2020.0>Hidden Objects. This is not a bug so I moved your thread.

File size isn't the only indicator of model complexity. The delay could be caused by a number of different things in the model. Complex shadows, hi res images or textures, some style setting, etc. What is the graphics card? Has there been a recent change to the graphics drivers? This is common with Windows updates.

Actually this is the same question as in the first post. My wish is to have full control on curve points used for distribution of components (not only pipes). Picture is made with lines + pipe plugin (Green elements has to be profiles).This way is not suitable for big number of profiles and more complex curves. In your gif (with stringer plugin) we can not have full control on endings configuration (what I call "end-points curve"). [image: gIw9_Pdrking-.jpg]
