No, this was not the video but it was interesting. I liked the thought of the Jigs. If you do something like that on a regular basis it was a good idea.

I really appreciate your response. I went back and read some more tutorials and now I understand what you were telling me. I rebuilt the door completely and just added to my model and all worked well. Still need a little more practice to make sure I do right first tine.

Yes, I always work on white style. Given the modeling I do (build car was parts and layouts - not the bulding) this works the best for me as everything has to be given to the potential customer in a PDF file.

Yes, I always work in parallel projection. This seems to work the best for me given the work I normally do. I only use the perspective mode when I generate movies that take you through the car wash. The parallel mode is also used to create 2D DWG files that are then pasted into the final building drawings.

Yep, the Warehouse can be a valuable resource but you need to be discerning about the models you get from there. You will find some good content and some that needs a lot of help. For the kinds of components I might find useful to get from the warehouse, my overall experience is that it's easier to make my own than fix what someone else did.

I should have thought of that but I have never used the watermark capability before.

If you want the bent component to match the curve you should be putting the straight line directly over or under the straight component.

Thanks Pilou, that was the video I was looking for and did not find. After creating some better images to project, I was able to get it done. Here is an image of how it finally turned out....

Notice that I actually had to make two copies because of the orientation. The original image that I was using just did not work well at all (was a photograph that was taken at an angle).

It sure isn't perfect but it is close enough for how it is being used and a huge step forward from what I originally had.

Kris's illustration shows many 'window' related terms.

A few observations...
A 'sill' - in the UK it might be alternatively called a 'cill'...
All of the parts around the edges of the opening are called the 'frame'.
The inner thinner section 'glazing-bars' [horizontal or vertical] are often called 'muntins', but a bigger section - e.g. something more like a side frame's profile - is called a 'mullion' if it's vertical, and a 'transom' if it's horizontal...
At the bottom it's the 'sill/cill'.
At the top it's the 'head'.
The projecting part of the 'sill/cill' that throws water away from the wall is usually called the 'drip'.
If the opening is actually a 'doorway', then the terms like 'sill/cill' change to be 'threshold'.

As for saving the style in the Default styles folder, you'll have to use Windows Explorer and navigate to the Styles folder in the Program Files/SketchUp 2015 folder and change the permissions to allow you to write to the folder. It's the same issue we used to have with Plugins.

By the way, maybe you could update your profile to indicate SU2015.

Updated my profile (left it a Beginner though 😄 ). I also updated the permissions for the styles folder and that worked fine......

So far I have not noticed any problem with rounded edges. If I do, I will go change it.

What Rich said is the best to do.
You won't find anywhere a list with these therms because some of them are not even in the dictionary . They came out of necessity.

Usually I just google the words or have a search on the forums. If I can't find anything about it, I just ask.

same here, but also for the .skp files. Even with a new created 2015 pro version models i am forced to open in 2014 so i get an error. If i can not solve the issue (since i do not want to run 2015 version and then open the file via browsing or from the list below every annoying time) i guess i am going to uninstall the 2014 version.

Any help will be very appreciated.

Do you have any other plugins installed which might be using observers etc to look at created components and thereby slowing it down ?
If you manually make a component are there similar lags ?

No - I do not have any other plugins that are using observers......

If I do not get the lag when creating components or any other things. 2015 has been very fast for me. I just noticed this today. Do not remember seeing it yesterday or before and have not made any updates........

OK - I just went and tried again with one of the files where I noticed the problem earlier and it worked fine (and VERY fast). Do not know what might have been happening (I have all of the same things opened on my PC). I will assume it is fine but I will watch it to see if it happens again.

SketchUP will not import some DWG information such as text, hatching dimensions, complex surfaces or dynamic blocks. Also, any information on the layouts are ignored.
Finally, curves are faceted when importing to SKUP.
