@ntxdave Thanks for confirming!
You can click the heart (
) again to unfavorite. The heart will become unfilled again, and the HDRI (or texture, or material) will be gone from your favorites tab.

RE: Rayscaper New Releases
@pixelcruncher Thanks for the update. Everything seems to be working correctly now.
-
RE: Rayscaper Learning-Practice
@pixelcruncher Yes, it is working. Here is a screen shot of the results.
BTW: Now that I know how to add an HDRI to the Favorites, Is there a way to remove one from the Favorites?

The render result not appearing is definitely a bug. Will post an update on that tomorrow. Sorry about that. Anyone else seeing the same issue?
On the HDRI image thumbnail, thereβs a heart
οΈ icon in the top-left corner you can click to favorite an HDRI.
OK, Sorry, I did not see the heart before. I just did it and yes it was moved to the Favorites tab. A suggestion might be to make the heart icon with the HDRI image look like the one in your post.

RE: Rayscaper Learning-Practice
@pixelcruncher Ouch, I updated to version 9.25 earlier today and suddenly I am not getting any render.
Here is a screen shot that I just did. Notice 2 things:
-
The render part of the screen is blank. I thought earlier today it worked fine. Ugh...........
-
The second thing you will see is that I have clicked on the HDRI file like you asked.

RE: Rayscaper Learning-Practice
Still have not figured out how to add things to the Favorites tab.
-
RE: Formfonts Redux
@Alan-Fraser Your models look really great.
BTW: I still have version 2020 installed which is also a perpetual license. I also do not like the subscription but I did finally purchase 2024.
-
RE: Rayscaper Learning-Practice
@pixelcruncher But how do you do that? I thought I had tried several things but never see the red heart icon.
It would be neat if the file you had selected was highlighted in some way. i.e. the HDRI file that is being used in the render.

Is
approaching_storm.exr
your HDRI file, or is that one you dragged & dropped? Currently, there's no feature yet to save your own HDRI files or textures in the local material library. I have that on the future roadmap.
It is one I bragged & dropped. How do I would like for it to be one of my favorites. In you previous responses you said to click the heart icon but I do not see that as an option anywhere. It is one I dragged & dropped. In a previous post you said to click the
οΈ icon to add it to the βFavoritesβ. As my screen shot shows, there is no
οΈ icon. So, how do I add the file to the βFavoritesβ?

@pixelcruncher said in Rayscaper Learning-Practice:
You can identify the HDRI using the environment tab. That should show you the filename, and a thumbnail of the image. Is that what you are looking for?
OK, I see that.
You can favorite an HDRI using the
icon. And you can find them again under the "Favorites tab" (HDRI > Favorites) in the asset manager.
However, I do not see the heart icon so that I can add the HDRI file to the "Favorites tab"

RE: Rayscaper Learning-Practice
Thanks for the reply. I will do some exploring.
I still do not see how to identify which HDRI I used in my model or how to use/save an HDRI favorites.

@ntxdave When I reopen my model and start Rayscaper, I have some questions.
-
Is there a way to determine which HDRI I have loaded in my previous render/edit?
-
How do I save an HDRI in the Favorites?
-
Where are things like the HDRI files (and possibly some materials) stored? Also, is there a set of materials so I can use them in future models?
OK, I found the HDRI files. A dumb question on my part.
However, I do not see any materials. I do see a folder for "UnzippedMaterialPacks" but it is empty.
I also do not see how to use the textures. Do I drag them to a spot in the model? One of the things I looked at was concrete, but they are pretty dark.

@Dave-R Thanks for the reply anyway.

RE: Change list separator spacing?
@Dave-R said in Change list separator spacing?:
@ntxdave I haven't investigated importing SketchUp models into Impress. It's one of those things I've never needed. I use Calc and Writer quite a bit. I guess the UI isn't as froo-froo as Excel and Word but the programs work basically the same.
Just out of curiosity, I downloaded LibreOffice and went to look at Impress. Again, just curious but did not find a way to include a SketchUp model. I thought I read where you could use a glTF file (I have some glb files) but could not get it to work. Thought with your background maybe you could give me (and others) a clue of how to use Impress for something like this.

RE: Change list separator spacing?
@Dave-R said in Change list separator spacing?:
@nickchun
No. There isn't a way to do that with a list typed directly into LayOut. My preference is to create my list in a proper text editor. I use Libre Office. You have a lot more control over the formatting of the text including spacing for lists. Then I save as .rtf and insert it into LayOut.I have not heard of Libre Office before. I went and looked at their website. Can you import SketchUp objects/models into Impress? IYO, how does it compare to Office?

Migrated Rayscaper to a new graphical user interface (GUI) framework. This changes the look and feel of the GUI but
was done mainly to simplify Rayscaper's code base to enable faster future development. This was a significant change and why it took +1 Month since the previous release.Help me build the community
I'm on Twitter (X) now: https://twitter.com/Rayscaper3d/ - Please follow the @Rayscaper3d that will help me grow the community and spread the word about Rayscaper!
I like the updated UI. To me it is easier to read and some of the tools are definitely improved (IMO)
I do not have a Twitter account and not sure I want one. You should explore the idea of having your own forum.

Some more "playing around" and working with the feedback I get.

RE: RayScaper
@ntxdave I made the texture and applied it to the walls, some part is not textured properly and I will fix it.
How do you do that? I would like to learn this.
