@ntxdave Iβm convinced F1 is broken on your keyboard.
Well you have to be using your keyboard and SketchUp to get that result. π€ͺ

Now tell me how you get that pattern.
It's the Checkerboard material SketchUp ships with under Patterns
Thanks Rich. I should have thought of that. Duh! π€ͺ
@Rich-O-Brien Very nice Rich.
Now tell me how you get that pattern.
There are things I like about each of them.
I like the lighting on the first image the best.
I like the exterior setting of the second image the best,
I like the books and shelving contests of the third image the best but I am not a fan of the white wood (guess that is an exposure of my age since we (at least in the US) we are doing away with interior wood and making everything white.
Bottom line though is that I think it is a fine interior.
@Box Thank you sir! I finally got things working correctly and was able to "play around" a little. The image below represents what I figured out using the FredoScale tools. I greatly appreciate your help.

@Box Thank you sir.

I have not used that tool so I will do some playing around.
I am feeling really stupid.
I have watched @Boxβs video several times and have also watched a couple of tutorials but I seem to have real problems trying to use the tool. Can someone give me a somewhat detailed (step by step) explanation of how to accomplish this?
@Box Thank you sir.
I have not used that tool so I will do some playing around.
@Rich-O-Brien Did you do your model with native tools or a plugin? Yes, I know it is a dumb question but I just had to ask. I have never seen the rotation tool used like that.
@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich, Gus & TIG. I finally got my act together and was able to figure things out before seeing these last posts. Here is my result (but I like the stuff you guys did as well).
I guess this "exercise" exemplifies my age and lack of use lately.
@Gus-R & @TIG I appreciate your responses but I am not getting the results I want. If you look at the orientation of the objects on the left and right, that is the orientation of the shapes that I want for the arch. When the objects are placed in the arch, I want the "tall" part to be the way the objects are oriented. I do not seem to be able to rotate them correctly to achieve what I want. Think of it like the objects are bricks and I want the arch to show the long side of the bricks.
I am trying to use the TrueBend plugin to bend a group of objects along a curve. While I know how to use the basics of the tool, I am having a problem understanding how to set the axis for the group to bend it the way I want to. I hope the image below will give you an idea of what I am trying to accomplish.
@Rich-O-Brien Ooops, my apology! π€ͺ
Isn't there something though that lets us know that there is an update for our installed plugins/extensions? If not, there should be, and my old memory was thinking there was (this is what happens as us elderly users get aged (more experienced)).

I'm on Twitter (X) now: https://twitter.com/Rayscaper3d/ - Please follow the @Rayscaper3d that will help me grow the community and spread the word about Rayscaper!
I have tried posting an image there a couple of times, but it does not show up when I go there. I must be doing something wrong. Your thread over there is the only thing I go to Twitter (X) for.

@ntxdave I didnt know we had a Manage button or that our Extension Manager was showing updates. You must be running a version no else has.
Here is a screen shot of what I was talking about.
@Mike-Amos said in Rayscaper New Releases:
I just check the Sketchucation store, any updates are readily apparent and it is faster when working within Sketchup.
Yes, however, my point was, why doesnβt it show up as an update in the SketchUcation Extension Manager? Normally when you have an extension installed that has an update available the Manage button/link will be highlighted indicating there is an update available but I did not see that for Rayscaper. I was just trying to point that out.
@pixelcruncher If I open SketchUp and then select the SketchUcation Extension Manager, it does not show that there is an update for Rayscaper.
I will go ahead and download the update and install it but thought I would provide some feedback here.

This whole environment is about drawing/designing skill OF THE USERS/PARTICIPANTS
At least that is my opinion!
@ntxdave OK, I adjusted the items you pointed out. And I should have mentioned before that the material was Disney Metalic. However, I made some adjustments:
Hope you find this on to be improved.
@pixelcruncher
Thanks for the feedback, I will have a look at it. As you were entering this, I had created 6 more renders with different HDRI files. I will go have a look at the items you pointed out though.
I would like to know which of these (ignoring the problems you pointed out) you like the best. After making the corrections you suggest, I will do a "final" render with the HDRI you like the best.
BTW: my next "experiment" will be to learn how to use your light tools.
