Thanks. Indeed, as you are there to represent geometry much with textures, there could be some place of further reduction but still better than modelling every part.

No problem, I´m glad I could help. A little OT - during my visit to UK in 1999 I spent a couple of days in Woking. My host was a kind, older gentleman, a true aviation aficionado. Needles to say, we had some great talks. But I still regret that I didn´t have a chance to meet his neighbour, who was a tailgunner during WW2 (and I cannot for the life of me remember what plane did he fly) My,my. Digging up an old thread... The reason for this is that, like with forced 2-point perspective in sketchup, when you zoom in on a matched photo it is not a true 3d zoom like in a normal view. In order to keep the perspective the same, sketchup is effectively cropping the view. If it let you zoom in normally, it would change the perspective (the zoom tool effectively moves the camera towards whatever you're zooming in to). The way round this would be to 'zoom in' in the sense that a zoom lens on a camera zooms in - by changing the field of view. This can be done by typing in a focal length in mm into the input box when you're in the zoom tool, or by holding down shift and then zooming. Give it a try, let me know if it helps!
