Another suggestion is to integrate Sketchup with a realtime rendering application eg. Lumion, Twinmotion or another. I know that in nearest future all architectural applications will be oblige to use this technology (directry from games). First one who will do that, will be world's leader and I believe that this will be Google Sketchup (my favorite tool in everyday work). I will be first customer. Just today Lumion gets models straight from 3d Warehouse. Integration should be easier then with V-ray.

Probably late but here is approach. Model from top down using the top's cruciform and follow me tool to establish staring roof profile, measure photos to get other lower dimensions. I could not get enough info from the pics to get a consistent set of dimensions and could not tell for them any thing about spouting and the lower edge over lap and the diagonal from the top of the " gambrel" comapred to photo. @jhauswirth said: Does the white line show up when printing from the PDF viewer? No it doesn't. So I'm guessing export to pdf is the answer. Or getting the printer guys out! Suppose this is a good workaround, albeit adding a few extra seconds to the workfklow and a few more megabytes to the project folder. Thanks your your comments and help, really appreciate it.

Well, you have just become a member of another forum which is quite well monitored by some Googlers. Maybe try there as well (I can add my own 2 cents, too).

@unknownuser said: @unknownuser said: ....so I wasn't really sure which way to go. Often I just look around in the area and find a roof that looks appropriate and take a sample from it. I like it. Nice idea, thanks. I will make some changes tonight as I have to change the ornamental spheres for png's (they are making the model waaay too big). Thanks again.

Hi folks. You can probably save the uninstall and reinstall of SU 8 with this trick: Rename the "Google SketchUp 8" folder. Use "SU 8" for example or just add -1 or whatever to change its name. Install SU 7. Normally it should install in a separate directory. When done, rename the SU 8 directory to its former name. You now have both versions available. Just ideas.

Hi folks. The "Follow me" Tool can be used to make a profile follow such a path. Just make sure that you do not generate facets that are too small to fill. If this is the case, draw larger and scale down when done. Just ideas.

I went to Burnley yesterday to watch Leeds.... What a game. First half we were absymal and deservedly 2-0 down. 2nd half we came out and were sensational, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2, with a fabulous goal in the last 5 minutes to win it for us. Fabulous stuff! Was buzzing!

Well done Todd, that's superb stuff, especially with that heat! There's no way on earth I could run in those temperatures. Thankfully, it's never THAT hot over here in the UK. @unknownuser said: All in all - it was a great experience that I don't care to repeat. My feet REALLY hurt! That's the thing, I saif that, but it's bloody addictive!
