Portfolio Question
-
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to pick your expert brains.
I use SketchUp everyday in my 9-5 job where I am a designer for a company who makes bespoke play areas and outdoor equipment for schools and public play areas. I love using SketchUp but don't enjoy my job and I'm determined to get a new one in 2012. I would say I was an accomplished user of SketchUp and have been teaching myself rendering, wherein my skills are improving (but tthey're still work in progress).
So, I am wondering, what would you, as hypothetical employers like to see in the portfolio of a young*, good-looking** enthusiast looking to gain employment in arch-viz or similar? What type of renders would you like to see? What styles? In the forthcoming weeks/months I hope to produce a portfolio to be proud of so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I rarely get to do exciting images/renders at work and am limited in this way.
Many thanks in advance,
Lee

network, network, and network some more. It's a very crowded field, and the more ways you can connect and get yourself in front of potential employers, the better off you are. Find out what their needs are and tailor your portfolio to that.
