Hi Jonathan Why don't post the model and I'll have a look quickly. I'm fairly sure it's easily rectified. Andre

jonathanB this file is an update showing a portion of an hand rail concept http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9df4585fbb0ebe4f427d16763a0ff49. I don't know what you want so it is a watse of my time to design very much. Some suggestion for you: Use the follow me and keep plugin to avoid rotation of the profile if you use soemthing other than circler; Establish the profile ref at all segment break points so gaps do not form including at the tread and its riser so the profile follows the stair segments; I think this approach keeps most of the effort you have into the model without having to start over. Good Luck Let us know how you are progressing

It's not the nesting, the component bends perfectly on my system. Select the component, hit the bending tool, select the straight line on the red axes, it should turn blue, then select the curve, it turns blue. Wait a bit and you get the blue and green formers, when they are the way you want, hit enter. And wait. [image: QNxd_Bent.JPG]

That's all you need to do; extract the files in the Plugins folder (make sure your XP OS does not create a "top level" folder for them; copy/move everything straight under the main plugins folder). After restarting SU, see if ShapeBender is enabled under Window > Preferences > Extensions. It also has a toolbar under View > Toolbars.

Bj, Its when you pull the dimension up, there is an example of it at the top of the LO drawing. The dimensions are different. One is taken horizontally across the room, the other diagonally and pulled up. Normally the dimension adjusts to suit the width, in this case the dimension stays with the diagonal length. Hope I am making sense

Hi Jonathan, Under File > Document setup > Paper, at the bottom there is the rendering setting. Leave "Edit quality" something lower or medium (for better performance) and set Output quality to high. When exporting to raster, High will be 300 dpi, medium 150 dpi and low 96 dpi (I think). Raster output is what it says; a simple image output. Vector is vector based but will not export textures just as colours. Hybrid will export edges as vector an textures as raster images.

You always have to be very careful when using this technique however as it will display all edges by material so if you accidentally paint other edges with some colour for instance (or paint whole groups/components from outside), they will also be displayed by those colours.

Oh I'm too late. But here is the video I had made for something very similar previously, using the Shape Bender script. [flash=800,600:2ojyrnmr]http://www.youtube.com/v/tGHTIOMm_34&hd=1&fs=1[/flash:2ojyrnmr] Chris

@thomthom said: The real solution would be to update the drivers. Or even a new card - in case it is really that old computer (although sometimes you do not want to spend money on an old machine any more - and most of the modern cards may not even be compatible with your motherboard)

In complement of Jean's "Idea", Here is a Youtube video which shows how it is interesting to make your globe a component before adjust the pushpull shapes of doors and windows. This way, you enter the component before make an intersection with the model and then you have no cleaning job to do [flash=560,340:3vpqnq8y]http://www.youtube.com/v/SUYN_Uqzvec[/flash:3vpqnq8y] (re:I have found this video on a thread where TIG was explaining to someone how to weld two tubes together but I don't recover this trhead.) ...I have found it again: [Plugin] Extrude Edges by Rails v1.1 simon

I've added an example of using EEbyRails to make a simple OR complex ramp on a curve - see here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=206584#p206584 All you need is a curve for the cross-section [profile] and curves for the two side rails - rotated in 3D so that the landing is as you want [probably level?]...
