I'm only a novice at Vray, but it seems that the only way to get a numerical value for the roughness is to create a new "Vray material" from scratch. Here's the manual description of how to control it: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY2SKETCHUP/VRayMtl#VRayMtl-Diffuse

Looks typical of a graphics card issue. Try updating the drivers. Radeon cards and their drivers are well-known for their inadequate support of OpenGL. With previous versions of SketchUp this could be mitigated by turning off Hardware Acceleration and using CPU or software rendering. With SU2017 having a graphics card that is up to the job is critical because there is no CPU or software rendering.

@peerman said: For a studio environment you can use an HDRI with a studio image. There is also the vray express installer which has studio environments for Sketchup. It gives you components with standard light setups and studiomodels. You can find it in the download section on the chaosgroup website (you have to log in). For some free HDRIs you can google. I have found this one.. http://zbyg.deviantart.com/art/HDRi-Pack-2-103458406 Maybe there's something for you in it. Best Thanks a ton for enlightening me about something sooooooooo amazing that I never knew! I was blown away by such HDRI envrinments! Seriously WOWWWWW! I'll surely try them out and post the renders here. I don't have have appropriate words to express my excitement and gratitude for this link. Thank you so much.

My mind was feeling dizzy as experienced in the theatre while watchign the shape shifting architecture of Inception and Dr. Strange. it's a very useful (and robust) plugin.. you can model some simple flat shapes and then map them to curved surfaces.. here you can see an example of use.. a simple process to get a shape that would be not so easy and fast without flowify and a couple of oter plugins.. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=397%26amp;t=66269 Thanks a lot again!

@john2 said: I haven't done any of the financial activities as far as the eps or pdf outputs of sketchup are concerned. The output is taken from a software called Adobe Illustrator. everything created with SketchUp, regardless if further processed with another application, is bound to the license terms agreed by you, transfering to another application for the final, commercially used export is obviously a commercial usage too

@dave r said: @john2 said: @autarchos said: Now, I only have to stretch the jpg render in Illustrator to match the size of the pdf. Everything then takes care of itself, i.e., the overlap. Can't you just resize the one to match the other by changing its dimensions? That's what I just did using the plugin. I entered the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the Jpeg render in the plugin and it resized my viewport so I could export the perfect pdf for vector line work.

[attachment=0:2lpq4snm]<!-- ia0 -->Capture.JPG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2lpq4snm] Thank You so much for posting this screenshot. All this while I was fiddling with the GI setting in the environment tab. Thanks for bearing with me. I now entered "zero" as the values in saturation and I'm getting white finally at last. I'm a novice and a dummy when it comes to v-ray. It's been four years and I still haven't been able to get grips on this rendering plugin. But now life seems good with v-ray.
