      Heres a simple test of the the sketchup created character in XSI by Joshua Blazer from seattle, a simple but early test, as you can see from the animation the mesh is slightly breaking up, i put this down to non welded edges so they will need to be welded/glued, which ever term you prefer, also the fingers dont bend as there are no creases on the fingers to allow joints to bend but i will addreas this also, not a bad test but it is effective for its first test if i do say so myself, so any suggestions for the best method of welding edges in SU, i see there are more than 1 method, im aware it can be imported into blender and done this way but im lookng for an SU way around this and weld the edges in SU and export the model with the welded edges for 3D MAX and XSI.       Ok got it to work, and works well, just 1 problem tho, it doesnt work with any animation plugins in SU, for example keyframe and su animate, but there is always a way, right Rich??

      Hope you had a good change of year I showed your work to some students who were at a christmas dinner. I told them I would bring some more examples of SU models and they are particularly interested in game applications. I captured several screen shots of your barns and printed them to show since there was not going to be a computer available at the dinner. They were very impressed with your work and were very glad to see the development from the initial model to the very dark and sinister version with the red light inside. They were also interested to learn of independent game developers having only thought that there were only large companies producing games. I gave them the addresses of the developers web site, and I'm sure they will go look at them. I'll let you know of any feedback that I get from them. I've retired from teaching except for some photoshop training I do through my photography business. I've only begun working in SU. You are way ahead of me. I got the local Highschool to incorporate SU in their curriculum so I have occasion to talk with students about SU and encourage them to do challenging models.       Oh forgot to mention im not looking to use screen capture to capture the animation, the reason why i want to export as an skp file is so i can render each image in shaderlight, so please dont mention the screen capture idea as mentioned in most of these forums, its totally irrelevant in this forum, thank you

      It's been a while since I did this bit from what I remember shaderlight doesn't render a sketchphysics animation, I found you would have to export each frame as a seep rate sketchup file, then render each file, but the draw back was you will need to change each file and start the render manually, this is very time consuming and I gave up then

      I don't think this can be done. You can assign a "thruster" parameter to your submarine, and then it will travel forward, but it will not be driven directly by the propeller. A propeller works kind of like a screw thread cutting through the relatively low density water*, but won't interact with a surrounding medium in SketchyPhysics in this way. Yes, I know that this is wrong in many ways. Please don't let this spawn a side-discussion on propellors and aerodynamics.
