Thank you. No Kristoff, it has two small buttons on either side and you have to select what command you want to utilise. I wont criticise it at all because it is a mobile device - if you want more functionality then you need to go to their other product offerings - fair enough I'd say! The review wasn't as detailed as you or Rich's but it hopefully gives potential users an intermediate users perspective.

@dermotcoll said: I uninstalled the software and then reinstalled it using the drivers on the website -(why bother with a disk in the box?) and it has installed all the the sketchup required menus. Should have asked if you had the latest driver version! Glad you managed to get it all working. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get used to it... mine has totally transformed the way I work with SketchUp. Cheers!

Mostly bizarre, yesterday I posted the above mentioned issue this is related to my desktop where I have been running XP Pro, however on my laptop with 7Ultimate it works just fine. Might be OS related issue, but I am to do an hardware upgrade on the desktop as parts wont work with Windows 7 or 8.1

Thanks guys - Stefanq - pure 100% Irish - no italian in me at all!! The island top is solid surfacing ( Wilsonart - SSV and Gibraltar mix) - it weighed a tonne. My back is still recovering from moving it. It turned out well. Thanks Jo-ke. If I get another one like this before October I might be able to afford the trip to Boulder!!!

Mike, I agree with Dermotcoll on the upper cabinet size thing, as well as lower cabinet size as it needs to open and clear island, looks like they will be too large as well as causing an obstruction, besides being against code. Why not have them slide instead? that way you can keep the over-sized look. The upper cabinets also look too high, whats the distance between counter-top and cabinets?

It may be some ruby conflicting issue or permission problem. Just speaking from my own experience with SU8 and SU2Thea - for me this combination seems to run better than SU7. Please, continue this in Thea support forums http://www.thearender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=3562&start=10

Sorry David I will only find out if they are cropped if I try to photomatch them. I am not technically competent in photography and the image was emailed to me by a client - from a website download. I have modelled it by guesstimating the dimensions. I plan to make a similar bed for the client and she wanted it as close as possible to the image. It was my first attempt at photomatch and I was getting very frustrated at not being able to achieve a good vertical line position when my horizon points were very accurately positioned. Thus the request for help. I have reread your original post on the topic and I just cant match what you are saying to what you have done in the images with the lines. Sorry for not being able to understand this thus my request for further direction on learning more about the subject. Thanks for the reply.

Hi folks. Just to add a bit of information, when importing a file, use the Option button in the Import dialog window to specify the units of the file to be imported. This will avoid an unwanted scaling at import. Just ideas.

Hi JHuman I designed the cabinetry and the layout - the client did not choose the colour of the walls until the cabinets were installed. We had talked about a wheat colour for the walls and I was as shocked as most people were when the walls were painted. You are not being harsh - just giving your opinion and I appreciate all comments - good and bad - that s how I get better! Cheers for posting. Now can we please kill this thread!

Agree w/ Frederik, please post Twilight questions in the Twilight forum... we may not necessarilysee a question placed here. could be that some kind of geometry is blocking the light? could be that the lights are large radius? could be many things. copying a light from one file to another should work perfectly

I would think that something like this is crying to be a dynamic component. Just scale it to length and it auto-calculates the actual width. But I am a complete newbie and someone might have objections to dynamic component creation. Rick

Cheers kwistenbiebel Really like the output you got. As I said all the help here is fantastic - i need to go away, improve my models, materials, lighting, composition, read manuals, look at videos and then when I take my tail from between my legs and post a new render I will see how well I have progressed. Thanks again everyone for all your help. Cheers Dermot

I find printing directly from layout to be a real problem, it never gets it right. I can only imagine that the sheer size of my layout files are way too much for my printers. I've had up to 50 meg files and I just don't have the memory in the printer to handle that. I always export to pdf then print but even then, there are some problems which, thankfully can usually be solved. My models are always in hybrid mode which tends to make huge pdfs, like 50+ megs big ( which could explain why the printer can't handle that) BUT to fix this, inside adobe acrobat you can reduce the file size which reduces the pdf so much it boggles my mind. I've had a file go from 74 megs to 5 megs. I don't know what it's doing but it works and I don't lose quality of the file. BUT the problem is that sometimes after all of that the print still doesn't work, it prints one of the images and no lines or 4 out of 5 pages are fine and one is messed up even though the pdf looks fine. I traced those types of problems to missing reference files or ones that need updates, so see if your references are correct. Other than that I'm not sure. jsteacy
