Flash, I do not entirely understand your first dilemna; as Toby suggested, could you please post an example or image to illustrate the problem. Regarding your second problem, you can always edit the size of the texture in the Create Material window. [image: 6ryO_CreateMaterial.jpg]

Hi Hetauma, hi folks. If you see the texture of the wall through the glass portion of the component, it is because the face of the wall has not been cut. This may be due to a non vertical wall or a warped wall or the component has snapped to some other geometry that is in front of the wall. Just ideas.

Oh! Just noticed that! Thank ou a lot! I really didnt know the sun in Su would add any modifications in the renders in vray. Because of the setting process in vray, I even tought that the shadow and sun setups in sketch were ignored and therefore didnt pay attention to that! thanks a lot for that! joao rsm

Hey there folks, I am really interested in how I can incorporate the use of CAD in this case I have downloaded what was suggested above? Can anyone point me in a useful direction so I can learn / incorporate CAD into my work flow. I realise that CAD mastery requires a lot of time and expertise... That isn't really what I am looking for but how I can better work in 2D and to generate drawings that could be used as plans to improve my modelling. I think in this case I am looking backwards to get drawings of what I have now modelled. Here are some of the "drawings" I was able to create for my friends but any suggestions on cleaning them up? [image: Drawing2-ProposedSitePlan.jpg] [image: Drawing8-West-BackElevation.jpg] [image: Drawing7c-SouthSideCrossSectionStai.jpg] [image: DrawingDetail2-RoofConstruction.jpg] I would appreciate any constructive feedback... My vote is for more power to the core and API.

I don't need a plugin for this - it's actually a piece of cake to model - it would just be fine not to worry about the cutting ability of thick walls.

Thanks to all who commented. That is so nice to be able to do this now. It's very frustrating without the grouping. Have a great day everyone.

That would install it into SU 6 (as it says). Just install it into F:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7 - if you have Program files installed on the F drive (normally this would be the C) it will find the Components folder inside automatically.

Let us not forget that some add-ons require activation in Window, Preferences, Extensions and tick the checkbox if the new ruby requires it. mitcorb

@ecuadorian said: How about a little contest? Choose a scene from the 3D warehouse, and let people do their best efforts to pull out "artistic" renders out of it. good idea, should i pick an image? or an actually model, you import into piranesi as a image file right? we would have to set a time limit though, like 30 min maybe??

To do the texture as well: select the flat path and the grass->right click->combine textures. then right click the face->texture->projected. If you then sample the texture (paint bucket tool+alt), go in to the terrain group and paint the face.

Should be possible. Create a folder in a shared location and put all your components there. open the components browser and click the little button just to the right of the search box, then click 'open or create a local collection'. navigate to your shared folder. Click the little button to the right of the search box and click 'add to favourites.'

@mitcorb said: You need to reply to his two questions at the end of his post. These ones you mean? @zeeshan said: how did you guys become so amazing at all this ? did you have some special training ? First, I don't think I am "amazing at all this" therefore I didn't reply on that. The other thing is; practise, practise, practise - and lurk all around the forums to find out how all the others are achieving results you like. I myself have never taken any training so I cannot speak for others.

intersect the walls with the driveway, select the driveway geometry the group it. its now detached and can be freely moved. just rotate it from the edge you want the slope to start at.

Hi Karl, i don't really need a chair atm but i really like the color/mood of the picture you posted. Is this a style or maybe a render?
