Specifically, which plugin did you mean? There seem to be several plugins with the word phrase "follow me".

If you have SketchUp v8 > M2 [and v8M5 is the newest... so you probably do !] - or ANY v2013 etc... the Preferences > Extensions > Install... button takes a chosen plugin's RBZ archive and installs it for you into the main Plugins folder - without the need for you to wear out any brain cells pondering what to do with it... If you have >=v8M2... and also have the SketchUcation PluginStore Toolset installed, then its dialog will let you AutoInstall Plugins/Extensions directly into SketchUp without even downloading the RBZ... And... unlike the native installer... it also allows you to install into your own custom-plugins folders... It also has an Archive Installer [run off the menu] to auto-install the few plugins that come as RBZ/ZIP archives which are not directly listed in the very comprehensive PluginStore database... and also other useful tools like its Plugins and Extensions Managers, its Plugins-Uninstaller etc... So... well worth a little research on SCF...

Dave, Just had a "DUH" moment. I couldn't figure out why you said the post was 290 feet tall but when I measured it with the tape measure tool, it was the correct height. Scaled. Yah, I get it. Anyway, problem solved. Kris

Hi. That plugin also appears in the Sketchucation Plugin Store by the late Honoluludesktop. I salute his memory.

I guess I would take that question directly to SketchUp's customer service instead of asking here. People claimed to have issues with SketchUp 8 when it came out, too. I've been using SU2013 since it was first release and wouldn't go back to SU8 and especially LO3 for anything. I much prefer SU2013 and LO2013.

I had the same problem working in a Laptop and another monitor connected to it. I could not even see the window "Preferences", so it was impossible to "Reset Workspace". I found just one solution: Disconnect the external monitor, then all windows were shown in the laptop screen.

Oh not large in actual distance. I am sorry, I was talking in detail. The model is about 500'. I just meant it was getting large in size/file size. House that has full details including all framework, drywall, carpet, tile, trim, etc. Probably pretty typical or actually conservative for most of you here.

@drunkabilly said: turn off 'View Hidden Geometry' turn to 'Wireframe' select ALL by dragging the selection box (left to right or right to left) .... This is all you need to do as far as selecting is concerned. (You have too many steps) In 'Entity Info' you'll see only edges selected. The boxes soft, smooth and hidden may be checked but greyed out due to the variety of edge's properties. Just uncheck all these three options. Edit. your 1) should now be 1) turn ON 'View Hidden Geometry' So there are only the three steps with this change in step 1)

Rick, I'm happy I was able to help. Sometimes it's just a little thing that pushes you over the edge. Thank you for making the donation, too.

@pbacot said: You will also build some value as you build clientele and reputation (oddly, not necessarily skill). Quite right. Skill only helps to be more efficient, so you can charge more for less of your time. Skill does not necessarily bring in the jobs, but does help retain clients. Too many people out there on the internet have beautiful work shown in their portfolio [not always theirs ] so it's VERY hard to compete for new work online. You must work your connections if you are to make a go of it - probably 90 - 95% of my work has been repeat client and through networking. Andy

ArchiCAD for kitchen design sound a bit like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut! Ex ArchiCAD user here. I decided SU was far more fun for designing and modelling and still do; but as you may be reading elsewhere the "pro" Layout aspect has many frustrations, and some benefits. Unfortunately for Layout commercial pressure has taken over and I now export my views as dwg and xref them into AutoCAD LT due to file sharing compatibility issues with dwg (Do a search on "DWG Export" and you will find a list of the issues I had). I really liked a lot about Layout but the frustrations of achieving what I needed to do were costing me, not the client, money. There are alternatives to AutoCAD LT e.g. Dassault Systeme's Draftsight which is free if Layout doesn't meet your 2D requirements.
