I agree with bobr. I have Bonzai 3D which is basically FormZ and I am able to open native SU files with all materials in place. Just did a test and looks just like the SU model. Might be a day short and a dollar late though

I have a similar problem. I built a new machine, changed from a 660 TI to a 270x graphics cards, which are neck and neck in performance. But on my new machine, SketchUp looks horrible. Ive got the latest drivers, hardware acelleration and nothing else checked in preferences, with the highest quality selected. Actually, if you triple click to select all of the geometry inside the component and then apply the paint, you will paint the edges as well as the faces but of course that's because you've selected the edges along with the faces.

First off.. Anything scaled in sketchup is going to export skewed and off.. So, always save as new and explode everything before exporting to dwg/dxf. If that doesn't work. Open it up in Revit and export it from there. Works everytime

Why not just select the whole handrail, right click and select soften edges and adjust them to an angle that is needed to soften the rail? Or is there a problem i don't see?
