Hello Pilou, Thank you very much for your reply. The videos gave me some good tips, but did not really include what I was looking for. For instance, I see that they make the golf hole, and in the end I thought they were going to glue the hole to the google earth surface so that it would stick to it and follow the contours while still keeping its face (and not becoming a non-planar surface). Is there anyway to do this? However, in the meantime, I managed to find a way to solve my problem, at least 70%. It is not the perfect solution, but it is good enough. Nevertheless, I thank you very much for your reply, I learned some new, good stuff.

@thiswasjustin Ah, I see. I don't usually make any use of the actual "name" field, though I do frequently use the "definition" field quite often. Good to know it's a bug for that time when I do decide to use it. Thanks!

Add a sheet material word to the component definition name. i.e. MDF, sheet, plywood, etc. Or add a new sheet material word that your components already use such as 'panel' in the first page of the CutList UI. Remember to save the settings. Or you can add a material to the components which has a sheet material word in its name. You can modify a simple color's name if you don't want to have actual materials applied. Any of those options will get the parts to show up in the Sheet Materials section instead of the solid wood components section.

It continues to reinforce that SU is capable in preparing construction documents. I haven't made the leap to SU for a complete set of con docs. When see stuff like this I really want to. The workflow and techniques are not all there yet for me. Anytime you can detail a set to this degree it will diminish onsite errors.

Hey! Thanks, I put my fingers in the thermistor and change the value. Now, i am sure the thermistor is ok. I think it's going to be a software problem.

@solo said: Very hard to say what is going wrong, will need more info, maybe images will help Thanks Solo, i will try to explain... the sketchup model has a lot of textures files, I export to obj but is something wrong with the way I export obj, probably i will have to optimize the textures. The obj files which work with my software have only one or a few texture file. The problem could be the way I edit the modell before export it. My machine only accept .dxf and I don't know how to convert with textures definition. only the block is converted.

@xiombarg said: If you are going to tweak it anyway, you might want to use one of the ASIMO models in the 3D warehouse. The body has a similar build and you could model a new head if you need to. I was fixated on searching for the VGC and blew by the ASIMO models, thanks for the reminder. I'm using the internal mechanics from some open source humanoids like InMOOV (hands)and Intel's Jimmy (arms/legs), with the VGC head. Since the Tumblr pics available, it will give me a chance to try some of the photo to 3D modelling freeware out there now to start the head. Thanks for the suggestions. Here is one solution using DC A cubic with two DC holes (cut2, includes the rim) As for scaling, one requires the insert point to be on the outside otherwise to hard to calculate, therefore place the surround with toggle to inner (smaller) size, place and scale to suit opening then use interact finger to toggle to outer. Cheers Philip PS another method using four cubic components, would be to join them without worrying about hidden lines/ faces. But to incorporate a outer shell/ explosion at some point when happy with the object created. Then one can use "cutlist" or other for material takeoff, as shown in some of my other posts. one can swap the childless component with its original if one need to amend it at some later point. I have it here - Win 7 64, Su Pro 2014 - with no issues. Did you use the SketchUcation PluginStore for installing it? The latest version there is 2.0.2

@jhonpayboll said: I´m having some trouble logging in to the sketchucation plugin store. Also I can´t search within the extension manager window. In both cases I press log in/search and nothing happens, any thoughts? thanks! Try going into Internet Explorer and emptying the cache, this might help with the SketchUp launched PluginStore dialog... If you mean the 'Plugin Store' accessed via your web browser, then try the same cache-clear, but in whatever browser you normally use [Chrome, Firefox etc]. By 'Extension Manager' I assume you really mean the 'Extension Warehouse' - which is Trimble's baby ?? For that you need to be pre-logged in with a gmail account... Try doing that beforehand... Also check your system settings and Internet Options to ensure javascript etc is enabled and nothing is overly 'strict' !

Tig, thank you for the workaround in your PM... it worked fine! (I had already poked around in that file with N++, but couldn't see anything obvious. ) Just FYI, this is a work laptop and we have a pretty unusual "website whitelist" security setup that I guess must be blocking the pings. (I can't PM yet or I might send you slightly more info, except it would probably be irrelevant for the next version anyway.) P.s. If you want me to test something relating to this just let me know.
