Two possible reasons come to mind. Do you see this in all models or just one? In Shadows, is Use sun for shading enabled? Are the Light and Dark sliders crossed up? That is, is the light sider all the way to the left and the Dark slider all the way to the right? The other possibility would involve the graphics card. What kind is it? Did this shading issue just start suddenly? It could be that Apple pushed an update to the graphics drivers in a recent update that caused this problem. If the Shadow settings don't fix it, go to Preferences>OpenGL and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration, Is there a change?

I would wish we could connect all parts of our Construction Kit world wide (WW). I think in all different continents we have different systems. Adaptors will be useful to connect different standards, too. My big dream is, we doesn´t need this all. i mean a WW Standard. Every producer of hardware create an own standard, I think it´s a little bit stupid. Yes i know, the producer will only a compatiblity inside the own system. an other problem is the different measure systems. my most used app on iphone is an measure app that calculate between different systems. https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/measures-hd/id452776173?mt=8 here is the problem, only the Apple Apps (iphone/ipad) is in the download. when i find an app for both systems Android/Apple/or windows mobile apps i must pay again for the second plateform. i could writing down so many other problems.. however i will stop here. I think all readers here can read between the lines. all readers here understand the main problem. I hope What i love in Sketchup is: You and I can make the world a little bit easier. And we can sketching our ideas more faster than ever. greetings from the Innotrans Area in Berlin/Germany Dean p.s.im not working for google

Hi Bob, Probably the quickest way to accomplish this, without extensive use of plugins, is to control your camera location/movement through scenes. This precludes the need to manipulate the model in any way. For example, you could draw a hexagon that encloses your entire model, with one vertex lined up with the front view. Then you could place your camera on the front vertical of the hexagon. Use guide points to try different elevations until you get one that frames your model correctly. Now adjust the height of the hexagon to match the perfect height. Re-place your camera on the front vertex, making sure that you are in the front view, and save the scene. Now place your camera on the next vertex and repeat the process and save a scene. (you can control your camera even more if you make an alignment face for each vertex that is perpendicular to the plane of the camera view at the vertex and use that to align the camera after you place it on the vertex. This might be more control than you actually need and "fudging" the camera location to better frame the model in each location is a valid method too. Once you have all the vertex views saved as scenes, run the animation. You may need to zoom in or out slightly, at each scene, to keep from clipping the model as the camera moves. Keep refreshing the scenes as you dial in the flow. It sounds more complicated than it is and you will find that you can "fake" an object-based animation pretty easily.

If i leave the precision at 0,0000 and snap at 0,1 and set the units to mm, I get the unwanted snapping! Setting the units to meter, keeping 0,0000 and snap at 0,1 it "works"... To summarize: Precision:0.01 Snap:0.1 Draw 2 // lines L1=1.00”units” and L2=0.98”units” along the x-axis Draw L3 from end of line L1 straight up along z-axis With m (meter) units all is OK! With mm (millimeter) units it screw it up!!!!! So that is why I set units to meters, export to .obj, import into slicing software for 3D printing. If somebody can explain this behavior? Because I still have other artifacts while merging different groups and “outer shell” them or do intersections, flat faces get “distorted” !!! [image: 6jAu_CC37.jpg] [image: fPCy_CC38.jpg]

You can add a layer that is invisible in all other scenes with e.g.: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10%26amp;t=36583#p322291 Or you can have a look at VisMap2 for a more advanced control (haven't tested it): http://www.martinrinehart.com/models/rubies/vismapdoc.html

@cheekyky said: Hello, I'm having problems with the toposhaper extension tool. I'm running it on a very simple topography and it keeps crashing. I'm probably not using it well, I don't know... The tool 'from contours' seems to work perfectly but it's not as precise as toposhaper. It looks like you run TopoShaper from the inside of the Group or Component. Could you instead just seelct the Group / Component.
