Toggling "display section plane" off and hiding it are different but they actually give you the same "result" in a short run. The combined use of hiding / selecting active planes (cuts) can create nice effects ("moving" section planes etc.)

Thanks for the responses. I suggested to my client that she investigate the equipment before the presentation. I gave her jpegs 300dpi 10" (inches) wide. Glenn

Yes, you should add dimensions manually. You can, however, print to scale - when dimensions are not needed that much (since you can get the dimensions by measuring things on the printout). At least maybe not all dimensions are needed that much.

Or you can use the export function and export in a larger resolution. This is a must if you plan to use it for large prints.

Oh and by the way, thanks for the work on my Star. My intent is to carve that into a piece of furniture, but I wanted to see how it looked first. Thanks a lot from Houston, Tx. Dad Kel

@daniel said: I usually model everything in the default layer 0, but always put cars, people, and trees in their own layers so they can be turned off while modeling other things. ditto

Stuart, you cant do everything with ruby. As good as ruby is, id much rather have the SU team working on getting a really good base program than have them working on things that can be achieved with ruby.

A very marginally quicker modification of Boo's method is to just use a selection window around the face (including the outer edge) and then de-select the outer edge by double shift clicking one of the outer connected faces.

Remember that when you use PushPull to pull or push the wall to the new required width, simply double clicking the PP tool on other surfaces after will give you the same wall width again. It will speed things up a lot for something like this.

right click on a face to display the context menu 2) dismiss that (click outside)* Windows | Preferences | Shortcuts filter: reverse Choose Edit...Reverse Face *Don't do step 2. In order for context menu items to show in the Shortcuts list, it would have to show in the context menu if you right click and if a face isn't selected, it won't show in the context menu.

I think that the empty PNG has to be bigger than 10 x 10 pixels for it to work. I once noticed that a 2 x 2 PNG made by myself didn't work, but a bigger one from the forum (by Alan Fraser, if I remember right) worked perfectly. I cannot say where the limit is. The 99% trick is a good workaround Anssi
