I am having a graphics problem with a model.

Background, I created a simple model of this vacation home in mexico. I did the work at home with sketchup 6 on a PC running XP. I then decided to bring the file to work to show some co-workers. I am also running Sketchup 6 on a PC with XP pro.

The problem is, when I open it at work, all the textures are messed up (see pic).
    Any help is much appreciated.

      It happens to me too.
      But in the same computer.

I think it is due when using push-pull with the ctrl control key pressed.
Then the faces must not be coplanar and if I select the face it is completely triangulated.

No idea how to solve it.

      😢

I dont think it is a graphic problem with the video card.

If you turn hidden geometry on, you will probably find that those faces are not single coplanar faces in themselves, but composed of many triangular faces. You may have inadvertently nudged a line, which in turn affected everything it was connected to.

        My avatar is an anachronism.

Daniel is right. I've had this same problem. If you catch it right away, the Undo button works fine. After you've saved the model, it's do-over time. In my case it has happened when there are elements in one lkayer attached to elements in another. Move a line in one and it effects the unseen layer as well.

One protection for it is to make groups before the line is moved or the Push-Pull is used. If you edit the group, it doesn't change the elements outside the group. After you done, you can Explode the group.

              Hi all,

tonydefo, I've had the same problem in my work computer, i also first thought that the faces were not coplanar but in my case simply by turning off the Edge Style Profiles, made the problem go away. try it, maybe you have the same problem? i still don´t know why it happens.

Also check that your model is not very far (miles, kilometers) from the SU origin point, or that it does not contain some extraneous geometry somewhere far away. Both these cases confuse the OpenGL system, which really does not work well with either too big or too small dimensions. This happens easily with imported CAD files, especially ones with geographical survey data.

Thank you for your comments about this issue.
I am starting to learn how to deal with it.
