we would like to examine the scene file and fix the issue if you are able to send it to us, but to work around the issue, you might have luck if you go to system preferences->general, and check the box for "close windows when quitting an application". This ensures that opened docs are not reopened when the app is opened. Alternatively, we only attach or plugin to the most recently opened model, so you may have luck opening another su file by double clicking it. The problematic scene file should still load, but we won't attach to it, process it, etc. You should then be able to close it without an issue. We have resolved some issues that would cause complex/large scenes to crash in this manner on OSX in a nightly build. If you are interested in testing your issue out in one of those builds, send me a PM.

hehe, I'm just thinking back to numerous posts "why doesn't my ies light show up" because they got some very low power ies file that won't work without 1m intensity. Just saying - OP needs to figure out the basics of artificial lighting in a scene before venturing down the ies maze...

wow...i feel good that my frustration is shared by other more users as well. i wasted many hours fixing instead of enjoying vray 1.49.01. also Glad to hear that vray 2.0 has no bugs like in 1.49.01. i will install it and use 2.0. hope i will have better experience using it. n thank Devin Kendig for your hardwork.

When connecting two computers directly you will need a Cross-Over network cable otherwise you will have to introduce a hub/router.

If you are using 2.0 there are presets for interiors. They work very well.

We've all been there. The learning is the fun part. Well maybe not when a client is waiting for a render and you can't figure something out, that's gray hair and ulcers. Other than that - FUN FUN FUN!!!

Window->Preferences->Extensions and click on V-Ray for SketchUp. What version does it say you're using? FYI- The version displayed in the VFB displays the core V-Ray version, not the version of V-Ray for SketchUp that you're using.

Hi valerostudio, I got better results with AO turned off but still there are strange spots on the ceiling and lost the depth in the rendering with AO turned off. Can you please suggest what would be a best starting point for AO setting in a rendering which have fine moldings ? or a way around it ? Thank you. [image: yAcK_41.jpg]

...got it the problem was that at the IES lights the "soft shadows" was on.

you might also want to upgrade to the official 2.0 release.
