Sketchup make here. I have made a simple rectangle into a contour with some peaks & troughs. I want to divide it into equal segments so I can take lines in section. I have attached a photo of the finished piece I am trying to replicate (similar anyway). So I need to take a series of straight lines, equidistant, from the contour field, and give them all the other three sides, and some depth, so I can make a plywood cutting guide for each of the segments.

I can do a section plane to get me to the point I want the line to cut, but it doesn't create something I can select and work with. Thanks

Kerry, after you copy the first circle and type the distance, you can type 10x to repeat the copy 10 times, or however many times you want. read this short article:

Hi, I’m on a Mac Pro 2013 (trashcan) and I need to bump sketchup’s performance. I’m not worried about render times, Podium does great work there, but I make some complex models that sometimes I cannot even rotate, or might have to wait 10 minutes for the screen to refresh. I believe RAM won’t help, maybe my graphics card needs updating. Of course the only way to do this is with an eGPU like the Sonnet Breakaway Box. Could anyone advise me if an AMD Vega 64 or 56 would give a significant increase in live drawing?

Here are my current specs:

MacPro6,1
3.5GHz 6-Core.
16GB ram.
Dual AMD D500 FirePro (3gb)

"We are working on SU 2015 compatibility. It is coming soon but it's not ready yet.

We are on the SU beta team, and we have already started work. In the meantime, if you want to continue to use Podium, you will have to use it with SU2014.

In future, do not install Podium on new versions of SketchUp or with a new operating system, unless you read here that it is compatible. If you do, please be aware that it might not work as intended, or it might not work at all. "

Hi, I just upgraded to sketchup make 2015 (mac), but I can't get it to recognise podium. There is no plugin folder, so I tried to load it from within extensions prefs, but the 'SU_Podium_V2.rbs' file is greyed out and cannot be selected. I just ran the uninstaller, and downloaded a fresh copy of Podium V2 plus and reinstalled, but no joy yet. Any ideas? many thanks

Is there any update on this fix for podium? I bought it, and I love it, but the crashing of SU is an issue for me. I also believed it was a problem with SU so I'm watching this post with interest.

Vray crashes sketchup, every time. I'm on an iMac i7 with 16gb ram, sketchup make, and the latest vray plugin. As soon as I open su I get a bugsplat crash report. I couldn't reopen as it's opening the same auto saved file and crashing again. Once I remove vray it works fine again, with podium, shaderlight and kerkythea. Anyone else getting this issue? At this stage I have ruled out vray as a render contender!

Hi folks, I have been working on this kitchen interior for a while now. I have plenty of elements to add yet, but I want to start getting a more photo-realistic look. The parquet floors are coming out a bit flat and pale. I have attached the repeat pattern used (which I have darkened no end), and the setting for the floor is:
Diffuse 95%, Reflection 5%, Bump depth 25%, Anti-aliasing high
I have LEM's in the windows at 75 power, and spotlights on the roof at power 1, 15/45 cone
Any tips on getting some depth? I have also attached a reference photo of the floor look I would like to get closer to. Renders in Podium V2, Sketchup make 2013.

Hi Folks, im using sketchup make on a mac. Any tutorial about materials or textures starts with 'click the create a new material', but I don't have this option in my UI. When I click on menu > windows > materials, I get the colours palette, and the confusion sets in! I can right click in the grey area of the palette to get the option 'new texture', or drag a colour from the bottom list of colours, but it's slowing me down figuring out workarounds. Are there any mac-specific tutorials for sketchup 2013, or is there a list somewhere of the differences? many thanks
