That isn't necessary if you use the purge unused option in the V-Ray material editor

What I meant was I use TIG's plugin to purge the model of everything else without losing the VRay materials.

There is 2 ways to approach this type of rendering.

    ...

The other way, which makes for a real nice rendering is to place a ceiling plane on your model. Use a SketchUp 2-sided material in V-Ray and make the front face (should be facing into the plan) a white color and make the back face a material that is 100% transparent. Then you want to add some interior lights by using IES or spots and some planar lights at your window openings, and then render the view. Essentially, what happens is that V-Ray renders with no sun flooding into the room from the hole in the ceiling, but keeps it transparent because the face that is facing the camera is 100% clear.

    Give it a try.

Render directly to a VRImage to reduce the amount of memory that the VFB uses to display your rendered output (it can use a TON, especially if you're rendering multiple channels)

+1 - This will usually solve the problem by itself. You can render to EXR, but if you have channels, you need to have ProEXR installed in Photoshop to see the channels.

*Users who purchased V-Ray for SketchUp between April 15th, 2013 and the official release date will be eligible for a free upgrade

there ya go. I thought there was an upgrade price as well as a full purchase price, but I guess that just goes to show how much of the marketing/sales info I'm aware of around here.

    Thanks Devin πŸ‘

That was the problem, your solution worked.
    ( e.g. Window->Preferences->Extensions dialog. Just check or uncheck V-Ray for SketchUp )

'SketchUcation Plugins Manager' is a 'plugin' that helps manage 'extensions' and 'plugins'.

Initially, I enabled V-Ray through the Window->Preferences->Extensions dialog.
Some how, down-the-line, the extension status changed and I didn't realize it.

    Appreciate your help,
    Sherwood

Will be very coll if we can define some same configurations in sketchup pure materials by layer for each object.

Well, it would probably be pretty quick to sort out if you posted just that piece of your model. Like valerostudio, I first thought backfaces, but you sounded pretty sure of your modeling, plus the view through the glass doesn't look badly distorted. I'm guessing it could be some issue with the refraction depth being too low value, but it's hard to know without the model to look at.

the 1.6 beta is over, the 2.0 version has been released. Does resetting the light cache get rid of the watermark in the 2.0 demo? The 1.6 beta should be expired and always have a watermark at this point, is it still possible to get rid of the watermark by resetting your light cache now?

Contact Chaos Group for starters. Also, try to uninstall completely - this includes deleting any ASGVIS folders in your ProgramData folder.

Thanks for the tip, however this is the VRAY forum not the Thea forum and the last post is over a year old.

Maybe your project is located near Tchernobyl ? πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

Well, i've never seen that... πŸ€“

Just a thing : Before playing with time zone in the shadows options, be sure that your project is well geo-located. For exemple, your project is located in London and you set your time zone on +12.00 UTC, if you render your scene at 12.00 (midday), the result will be 12.00 + 12.00 = 24.00 (midnight)... πŸ˜‰

    Thanx Chon for ur reply.
i will check for the geo-location.
And by the way my project is located in India. πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„
