One of the problems I encounter with vray is the color bleeding issue. Meaning, for those who do not know what I mean , is when a the color of the object bounce off to the white color or light colored objects, say, a red carpet can make the ceiling and wall washed with pinkish color.

There was a method use shared by stefanq long while back by saving the irradiance map , and by rendering twice.. but I havent been successful doing that- must be something Im doing wrong.

I thought there might be something like override option like max? Is there?

Yes, saving an irradiance map is working now. The idea behind it is you reduce your saturation to render just the GI maps. Then you can bring back the saturation to normal with the final render using the saved irradiance map. (and you should save the Light Cache map as well, you'll have color bleeding there too if you don't pre-calculate.)

I think what we really want is an override material like seen here -
