@rspierenburg said: I believe the solution to this problem is to subdivide that circular face into several smaller faces. That should help. Rob Rob, you're 100% right. Face subdividing, resolve this issue but is very uncomfortable. I thought (was hoping), that is simpler method for this. After dividing, object can be hard to modify (I don't mean this particular case but more complicated). Anyway thanks for Your reply. -- Regards Marcel

You can download it from here. (http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556) You can try too "cook" your light engines (IR LC or QM) for separated. 30 minutes is NOT that much time. I used to render on a E8400, final renders took up to 3 hrs. Hey Thanks! will check that out.

Yeah, I only use it for final renders because of the huge increase in time. I put the map as bump map until the final image.

I agree. Thea or Maxwell for renderings that need to look 'real'. That and you really need to master the program and material settings. You can get very realistic results from Vray, but you need correct materials and lighting as well as high render settings. I just think that a rendering that is setup and rendered HQ would cost about the same as a photog taking a picture in a studio. Maybe we dont charge enough!

Instead of putting bitmap image in BG Vray options, you can draw arc "wall" behind your windows(i prefer it better instead of putting image in BG slot, because i used for Sun) you can draw closed arc plan, push it above, make group, delete all the faces except your arc vertical surface, import your landscape image on the arc surface, right click - texture - projected- go to paint bucket, chose sample paint, click on your image, pick paint bucket again, and color your whole arc surface [image: aXhq_model_1.jpg]

I put them in the M under Perpendicular in Fresnel Reflection. The S is a specular map and tells the material what parts reflect less/more than others. Example, a tile's grout would not reflect much at all, if any, so the grout lines would be almost black. Arrowway rocks BTW - good investment!

Also you need to set your field of view to 1. You wont be able to rendering a true elevation with vray but a FOV of 1 is not noticeable as a perspective.

I don't think anyone here is trying to discredit Vray, although I have always felt a disconnect between the easy use of Sketchup versus the professional nature of Vray. Watching a superb 10 minute Video of how to create lighting for one living room lamp in Vray, does not inspire me to attempt to do the same to illuminate 20 other lights in a scene, including the time it takes to render unfavorable outcomes.

Hello, workin on the latest version in 2016 and can't seem to be able to specify a batch render file type other than the default .png, it would be nice to select the vray image file type to be able to go back in and make exposure etc. adjustments.

Take a look also about this one! A very easy UI! http://www.neuro-systems.com/ a French Company (in English Substance 3D SUBSTANCE is a realtime 3D application for producing photorealistic Evolutionary Art. http://www.neuro-systems.net/documents/substance.html And this evolution one from the above NARS is the acronym of NeuroSystems Augmented Reality Studio. It was designed for designers, architects, photographers, marketing professionals and communication, but also for amateur and professional artists from all over in order to showcase their creations and projects with extraordinary simplicity for imaging software synthesis. With a few clicks, it can transform 3D models (completed or not) accomplished and compelling photorealistic images, adjusted in real time to create a high added value. It can also easily integrate these projects in a real environment from a video source or digital photos thanks to its photorealistic augmented reality technology. Curiously NARS is not on the English Section? less 49 € with VAT ! http://www.neuro-systems.fr/documents/nars.html [flash=420,315:2pfvzqb1]http://www.youtube.com/v/odKePqcfDDE[/flash:2pfvzqb1] [flash=420,315:2pfvzqb1]http://www.youtube.com/v/5csgl4UDbZM[/flash:2pfvzqb1]

Yes. "Overkill" it is. The command started as a part of the unsupported Express Tools (I am not quite sure whether it is still in those or if it was "promoted" into a "regular" command already). AutoCad is similar to SU in that some of its functionality comes from commands that are actually plugins. Anssi

Higher res! Go to something like 7000 pixels and let the thing cook overnight. I find its better to have a very high res and use the default Image Sampling of .01 than to descrease that number to something like .005 or less and render at 2000 pixels. Then run a unsharp mask filter in Photoshop and reduce the size down to what you want. That's my opinion.

I probably wouldn't trust a generically created sketchup camera too much. If you were in ortho mode or 2 point perspective that could certainly throw things way off. Even if not, though, there's nothing native within SU to determine where the focus point should be. And even if you find a way to get a focus point, will that translate through a .3ds file? I don't know. SU's ACT camera plugin doesn't have an option for focal distance. I can set a focal distance with my Maxwell render plugin but it doesn't translate through .3ds. -Brodie Edit: I agree wholeheartedly with Earthmover. You should be using perspective to navigate. And 3ds Max's SU importer is quite nice. It preserves all of your components as 3ds Max instances and textures translate very well. There was a SU importer for 2010 but I think it had to be downloaded separately whereas it's integrated into 2011.
