I suppose it gets more complicated with the subscription and I'm not sure what will happen to 2020 when I update to 2021 since both would be under the subscription license. To be honest I don't know why I keep those old versions installed. well, it comes in handy once in a great while when I need to create screen shots from older versions for instruction. I'd never go back to using those older versions for my day to day work, though.

The window is probably opening off screen. Try this: Open the Add More Imagery window, even if you don’t see it. Hold down Alt, and tap the space bar. Release Alt, and tap the M key. Tap any arrow key. Now move your cursor, and see if the add location window is attached. Left-click to drop the window off where you want it to be located. What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you still using SU2017 as indicated in your profile?

Unfortunately, too many people take length snapping to mean grid snapping, which is not what it does. This misunderstanding coupled with how it actually works can cause subtle errors in models. The resulting problems are usually discovered much later when they have contaminated other entities and become difficult to correct. Like Box said, just turn it off and leave it that way.

Am I right..? It doesn't necessarily mean " a year". Say my subscription runs-out on November 2, I cannot use SketchUp then. If, however, I want to use SketchUp Pro again, I can resubscribe any time, Such as December 22, and a new year's subscription begins on that date?

Well Poser looks very interesting if you need/want to have that level of animation and audio. My original idea was in response to Nukeman's original post to show that animation of 3D characters was possible in SketchUp without having to combine multiple videos to show an animated character in a SketchUp scene. Yes, I agree that doing so with tools like Animator and MSPhysics does take a lot of work. Bottom line is that, at least for now, doing all of this entirely inside SketchUp is not really the right way to do. IMO, SketchUp is not a good tool for creating game like environments. Again, IMO, SketchUp is a great tool for doing architectural or product models and even including some level of animation as a way to present the model/product. In those environments the best option combining the model and animated characters might be a tool like Twinmotion. And even in that environment it is my understanding that the animation of the characters is somewhat limited (you can not control all aspects of the character animation). I had planned on trying to show an animated character walking across a terrain or even thought about trying to animate a character going up a set of stairs. I think that everyone has already demonstrated that, while possible with a great amount of work, the current tools are not the best toolset for achieving something like that. In closing, sorry for the long post, I appreciate the responses we have had in the thread. I wish my skills were better at delivering and look forward to any additional insight on the topic.

I believe the only thing you can do is reduced these disruption by increase the number of segments of all rounded parts: cylinder, cuting forms etc... But as SketchUp is not a Nurbs prog you will have always little default of continuity in Boolean operations when they are not straight lines! Else best plugin for Boolean operations is BoolTools 2 ! Kind of difficult to give you a concise answer without seeing examples of what you’re now doing . Most effective NPR artistic style presentations are a combination of exporting various raw SU images , “ quick and dirty “ renders and manipulating them in software like PhotoSketcher then combining it all in a photo editing program. I can personally recommend the book “Digital Watercolor “ by Alan Casas it’s in the scetchUcation store. Also might be worth cruising through the Post Processing thread on this forum . Most of the posts are older but still good info and links there. Suggest looking a what others are doing and their workflows and then adapting that to your needs.
