    BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    This is a change to the way Hide works that was made to make it possible to use Hide instead of controlling visibility with tags. You can now hide and show objects through Outliner because of this. It does make this a scene property, too. Look at the Properties to Save options in the Scenes panel. Like all other Properties to Save, if you change one of those properties for a scene, you have to update the scene. Tags are still a good way to control visibility but with the separation between hidden objects and hidden geometry, you now have much finer control of what is shown in a scene without having to have so many tags. You might have a read through the Release Notes for SU2020 especially under What's New in Sketchup 2020.0>Hidden Objects. This is not a bug so I moved your thread.

    Ha !! I know what i did - as this wasn't happening in other models - i cut and paste into another clean scene. It came in on its side - I'd Altered the Axes just before saving (obviously in a rush) Blue wasn't vertical. Hence when the model looked right in the viewport i was orbiting around the blue axex which was at a crazy angle !!!! NumbNuts! I'll leave this here for people who may do this in the future and prevent them 1hr of frustration - thank you for the speedy response BOX Cheers C

    I suppose it gets more complicated with the subscription and I'm not sure what will happen to 2020 when I update to 2021 since both would be under the subscription license. To be honest I don't know why I keep those old versions installed. well, it comes in handy once in a great while when I need to create screen shots from older versions for instruction. I'd never go back to using those older versions for my day to day work, though.

    The window is probably opening off screen. Try this: Open the Add More Imagery window, even if you don’t see it. Hold down Alt, and tap the space bar. Release Alt, and tap the M key. Tap any arrow key. Now move your cursor, and see if the add location window is attached. Left-click to drop the window off where you want it to be located. What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you still using SU2017 as indicated in your profile?

    Fooled by 'enable length snapping'

    Unfortunately, too many people take length snapping to mean grid snapping, which is not what it does. This misunderstanding coupled with how it actually works can cause subtle errors in models. The resulting problems are usually discovered much later when they have contaminated other entities and become difficult to correct. Like Box said, just turn it off and leave it that way.

    Am I right..? It doesn't necessarily mean " a year". Say my subscription runs-out on November 2, I cannot use SketchUp then. If, however, I want to use SketchUp Pro again, I can resubscribe any time, Such as December 22, and a new year's subscription begins on that date?
