    BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    It may be that the a vailidity check is deleting tiny faces. I haven't used that extension before. Is there an option to set the number of sides? If so, what are you using for that? what is the radius of the pipe? How many segments in the arcs of the path? What is their radius?

    Just a stab in the dark: the camera orientation is different in the render vs the su screenshot you posted. If you orbit to align the two, does anything show up in SketchUp?

    That's true. 2016 is just running 98% perfectly for me on Linux. 2020 has gold rating on Wine compat. layer. I have to try on my Win8 lap. how 2017 feels.

    When you click on a link to Download an extension, do that - download it as an RBZ file onto your computer. When it's downloaded use the Extension Manager within SketchUp to install its contents for you - as Dave explained. Do not try to open the RBZ file with SketchUp - that will not work: it must be installed, NOT opened.

    I am using Windows 11 and no trouble using SketchUp Make 2017 what so ever, even just yesterday I was using SketchUp straight for 7 hours with only a mother nature break and getting coffee, never a problem. The finished model I was working on was only: Materials: 10 Polygons: 30,208 File Size: 6MB But that was after running CleanUp3, so even more polygons. But my laptop is only 3 years old, so maybe more stable in Windows 11, and compatibility with SketchUp Make 2017 may be better. SO I have no idea why its happening to you, sorry. SketchUp Make 2017 for Hobbyists RULEZ

    After reading a similar post in another forum, I looked at the open GL settings, turned off fast feedback and ok, then went back in and turned it on again. And the colour went back to normal. Something about true colour Thankyou for your efforts

    This is true for all SketchUp tools that are context-sensitive: they won't show up in the shortcuts editor unless the appropriate context is activated, e.g. by selecting an edge, face, group, or component.
