Have you saved scenes in the SU model? Those scenes should be selected to render in LO in the Sketchup Model tray. If the scene in the LO Sketchup model tray reads "Last saved Sketchup view" then that is your problem. It is very important that the link to the saved scenes in SU is maintained. If you do this, the LO viewport will not shift and you will have no yellow triangles. There is no need to redo any LO work if this accidently happens - leaders and dimensions are snapping to the SU model reference. Once it is rerendered to the original scene (assuming you placed all the leaders and dimensions with the correct scene selected), everything will automatically return in order.

Edges are rendered as vector lines in Hybrid so they'll be the same in both Hybrid and Vector. Fog won't fade out vector lines. The lines need to also be rendered in Raster for that to work.

I couldn't improve on what you got using raster, and yes going hybrid... well I just forced quit before it finished.

Definitely changing the line size for the model view helps but it looks like you have already got it turned down as far as it would go.

Have you looked at your output yet--printed at best output?

Besides going to a real CAD package, if you have to get by with this, print to pdf at higher scale and reduce the image to print?

Ok. I'm now getting around to configuring the LO2016 like my LO2015 as in the image in my OP. So I accept that I have to rebuild my toolbars. At least I have the image of the tools to follow. However, I can't find where to add the icons that I made. Options to edit icons are grayed out on commands that don't already have a button. If I recall, in 2015 there was an option to assign icons. Where is it?

that looks like font replacement going from the font used in the dialog box and the font used in the document...

it happens in SU with WebDialogs and Input Boxes, but I don't use LO enough to have ever noticed it there...

You may have more joy asking at http://forums.sketchup.com/t/about-the-layout-category

start a new topic and a link back to here if you can't post an image yet [you need 2-3 post for that]

No way around it. Don't use "High" quality edit. If you don't care about seeing every update uncheck Render "Auto" for the models, select all for a page and render when desired. The latest version also saves a couple seconds (not that impressive). Closing the file after update might help?? Still a pause when you open each page.
At least a "render all pages" command, would allow you to go for a coffee break.

I've been working on various files, components saved to file to model then to reload, and various LayOut files in Dropbox.

Needless to say with multiple people using files, and downloading versions to work on each computer, it's getting crazy just to think about it and for sanity it seems I need to work all on Dropbox versions (while saving copies everywhere else). So far that works, but I haven't had anyone else try to use these files and test their linkages at other sites.

Did you install SketchUp v2016 as an 'admin' ?
If NOT then you might have several issues...
I suggest you try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it - using 'as admin' in the context-menu when the exe-file is selected [rather than a simple double-click]...

Remember too James, that scrapbook is brilliant for this stuff! Just drag your object from the scrapbook and then sample it and note away, all will be same.

THANK YOU!! I knew I wasn't going crazy!

BTW Dave is in fact correct, WORD does this same functionality. Adobe Indesign however does this how one would hope and rather intuitively. "Only" the text is selected when double clicking to select a word or triple clicking for a paragraph - ie: Not collecting an additional space at the end and pasting it too!

What Indesign does here is add a space "if" pasting into other text (as you would hope), but if it is pasted at the end or as replacement text, then no space is added to the end.

You should be able to contact them through SketchUp.com

One guy I know had this problem on his Mac and like you, found that turning off Hardware Acceleration helped in some cases. He wound up taking his computer into a place that specializes in Macs. They discovered that his graphics card had some problems. After replacing it, the issues were entirely cleared up. I'm not saying that is the problem in your case but it was the fix for him.

...great! simply using the whole already done work of Project1 again for Project2 by relinking.
This LO thing seems to function similar to Adobe InDesign.
