I am using:

3.5 GHz i7
16 gigs of memory
3 gig fusion drive
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB

Plenty of power there.

I am working on a relatively small model in Sketchup, 1.8 million edges and 450K faces, but I have almost all my layers turned off. I am bringing scenes into Layout for construction drawings. The models move quickly in Sketchup, but when I bring them into Layout there is a huge drag when I attempt to do anything. Moving, drawing, zooming in/out.

I have set the display res. to low and output to high. I've tried purging all in Sketchup. No avail.

Well I have had some problems.

I saved my work in LO and left for a few hours. When I came back to it, parts of my drawings on different layers were moved or missing and the yellow triangle appeared on several pages. Leader arrows from text were now pointing off the page as though my image had somehow moved. I hadn't moved anything.

I tried to restore to an earlier saved point from yesterday and that did not work.

So I am redoing much of my work, but even after rendering images, the yellow triangle will not go away. I tried changing the drawings to raster and then rendering them and then back to hybrid or vector and re-rendering and that has not helped.

So any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated.

Close LO.
In SketchUp go to Preferences>OpenGL and untick Use Hardware Acceleration.
Reopen LO and update the references in your project.

I tried it. It worked in some of my scenes that I'm setting up in Layout and not in others. Moving the camera around in the Sketchup scene, and then updating in LO seemed to help, but there are several scenes that are not cooperating.

This is a major problem for me as I am finishing a project and this has halted my work. Sketchup needs to address this issue for Mac. What is the best way to contact them with the info and get them to fix this in the next update? I'm not a computer expert, but it seems to have something to do with Sketchup 2016 and the transfer of files from 2015. It didn't seem to be a problem with the previous version.

Lines that are within my Sketchup model, beneath a surface and unseen, are showing up in the Layout model and I can't seem to find a way to omit them. I've tried multiple style changes and nothing helps. I tried putting them on an "ALL OFF" layer which helped a little but some of them I need on for other scenes in my drawings. There must be a solution that is not just a cosmetic fix.

I saw a thread related to this but the discussion stopped short of a solution. There was a suggestion that it was related to openGL settings but I don't know how to adjust them correctly and I don't want to adversely effect the rest of my work.

Please help.

Are the other pages still available? Specifically I would like the 4 electrical symbol pages that you created.

My question is:

Is there a plug-in or some other way to turn a section cut line into an actual, selectable line? I would like to take a topography line from a section cut and copy it without having to trace over it.

I'm sure I'm probably just missing something very simple to do this, no?
