SU 8 has a solution for this; save (and restore) toolbar position.

Same thing for me. Follow me turns into a push/pull icon but works just fine.

Lowering the Camera's Field of View can sometimes help; or switching to Parallel Projection where FOV is 0. Clipping

I have found that the white squares occur sometimes after I have used the function keys to minimize, expose, etc. Without fail, a restart of Sketchup fixes this weirdness. I have found that inferences are less effective in SU7; sometimes it won't pick up intersecting points and sometimes it tries to pick up something behind the desired point. Definitely different than ver6, IMO.

I have often wondered if these errors are more frequent with people who use metric dimensions, due to the extra math required, as internally SU is based on inches. Anssi

Don't know if this is related, but today SU crashed several times when I tried to export a animation. I tried other smaller models, etc. to no avail. I finally uninstalled SU 7.1.2 (my own numbers) reinstalled 7.1.1, and again 7.1.2, both times with no success. I noticed that in some cases, the failed export left a empty *.avi in a folder at a higher level then the data folder. So I moved the model to the Win desktop, opened, and successfully exported the avi. Maybe SU has problems (in some instances) with long path names. My data folder name- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\Data\Job\Gfh Gary Hokua\Models renders\Furuta Hokua Desk The folder I found the empty avi on crash- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\My Documents The desktop subdirectory (folder)- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\Desktop **Adenda 1: I just finished the export and the file ended up in C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\My Documents ???? I must be doing something s*$&^d** Adenda 2: Of course, the default folder is the above, I just had been assuming that it was the data folder. Everything works now????

I think I may have found a code that fixes this problem. I'm the only one to test this , but it's worked both times tested. Use this code at the start and finish of the model discreption: [88.oin/_likr<gs]

No, but thank you for asking. I did an update on the graphics card and it was up-to-date. I have a dead line this afternoon so I dummied the file down to SU6 and I am crossing my fingers that the "Splats" do not follow...
