Back edges vs Transparent

In v8, Back edges is a great feature !!
But they are disabled by transparent mode.
Try this;
Create a style with back edges enabled, (save it).
Now choose the transparent faces mode from the Face Style toolbar. Then click it again to disable transparency.
See, no more Back edges, and your Style has to be redone.

I would guess that the feature is incompatible with the x-ray mode. You can just re-select your saved style from the styles browser to turn back edges back on, no need to rebuild the style. Changing style-related settings and then changing the settings back seems to leave the style flagged as "changed".
