well I have been working on the door for 3 days ( I know how that silly that may sounds) on the door model I thought it would not be an easy model to do but i have considered putting an end to it on a number of occasions. Now through me own fault I have mixed up my models accidently so the windows now are the wrong size. Thank god for intersect pages [image: 1739336763284-iface.png]

In SU itself, you can go to "Components" and type "shed." This automatically search the Warehouse. It's not a great selection, but it does have a variety. John's suggestion is also very good. Using those search terms brings up some really useful models.

It's kind of plain. Some streets would look good.

@ledisnomad said: Cool idea! When I have a moment, I'd like to be part of this experiment... maybe over this weekend. Have you heard of Studio Wikitecture? http://studiowikitecture.wordpress.com/ They set up an interesting system within Second Life that allowed controlled collaboration, voting, and more. Perhaps it might serve as a model for this project, at least at a basic level. thats a really kool website.

Amazing model and render. I also love the old modernist designers. Thank you for sharing the materials.

Alexander and Kristoff, I did try to use the free version of Instant Roof but it doesnt work for low pitched roofs and so i just used Tigs Roof.rb and placed roof tile components above it. There should be some roof tiles somewhere in this forum that ive been using. About Mediterranean style I dont know anything about styles. I have seen Mediteranean Spanish houses on the web and just learning about them. The door is from Google Warehouse and did some changes on it.

@unknownuser said: Interesting idea to work from a poem. Is it an assignment or did you come up with the idea yourself? It’s an MA assignment, it is a very conceptual look at the poem. The idea being that libraries are becoming obsolete and this will be a virtual environment for the viewer to experience the poem. @unknownuser said: Three thoughts I have after reading the poem and looking at your renderings: The poem is quite dark and cynical, right? I think you could portray that in the renderings with some moodier lighting. I was looking for the realism of the actual model I am going to build, to show the tutor my plans. @unknownuser said: Have you seen the paper relief models that Zaha Hadid maked/s? It could be interesting to combine the flatness of shadowboxes with a flat-ish architetural representation. Even just scale everything to flatten it and play with the field of view. I have, her work is very interesting @unknownuser said: The stair are the most architectural element and could use some development. The texture on the treads doesn't seem right. And the form could either be more real (stringers holding thin treads) or conceptual like a physical model (a little overlap of each stair like they are glued or just floating treads like it is purely computer graphics without gravity).

The stairs are just a means to an end for getting the viewer down the change in level. But following a tutorial yesterday I am exchanging the stairs for a ladder. I will post photos of the finish article soon (when I build it)

Wow, thanks y'all for that info: I really did not know any of that and I thank you for your input. In this case I haven't really worked out all the kinks in the design and I appreciate your notes-- I will add them to the pile of mistakes that I need to fix or show in more detail... like the doors in the front off the main deck there do not actually work with the floor plans and the windows are not translucent; the top deck is empty and the white is too white. Lots to do when I get some time, thanks again

Very nice, Mr. cept (or, may I call you Kong?) At first glance at the exterior image, wasn't sure which was model and which was photograph.

Of course this is what you need! Good choice! BTW just do some strokes splashes and washes, scan or photo it and overlay(hardlight) over a SU raw export.
