@unknownuser said: well you probably know about this method but just incase others reading this did not I thought I would post it. thanks phil, i knew about that method and have used it for other projects, but somehow i always have a tendency to make my whole model on one layer without use of components even though i work with autocad 40 hours a week and constantly use layers and blocks. i think my problem is that when i start making a model i cant wait to see results so i even start adding detail to one part of the model, while the other parts arent even made globally, very unefficient i know, but i need that for motivating myself to complete the rest of the model

yea that's much better. Be careful with the details of the pergola. The trellis "2x4" at the long wall you can only get cedar in about 12' lengths so you will have some butt joints to accomplish that long run. Detail a scarf joint at one of the brackets and then stagger the joints so that the joints are not all at the same bracket. Also the larger top member of the brackets seems too heavy for the relative small size of the trellis members. I see why its that size to match with the other ones on the end of the building. You might look into making the trellis slightly different details than the much larger pergola at the end of the building. see attached image for a scarf joint. [image: KxcO_09.jpg]

Nothing to do with Renders but came across this http://www.ibogleif.dk/spil/flashspil/minigolf/minigolf.swf while doing some research on golf simulators .... great fun and quite addictive .... best I could mannage was 41! The kneelers do have padding, I'll use some thin masonite with foam, then covered with vinyl. They'll attach to the rail via velcro strips so they can be removed for cleaning and repair. For the height, a went around to several pieces of furniture in the house till I found something close, measured from the floor, then added two inches. I'm 5'10" and it is a little bit of a stretch for me to the height I came up with, which felt about the same for a prayer rail at another Church. The minister asked the same thing, and laughed when she pictured my wife (5'2") and I going around the kneeling in front of different pieces of furniture.

sorry, lost my Connection. These are three Plans on that page http://woodsshop.com/Dojo/DojoPlans.htm http://woodsshop.com/Dojo/DojoPlan.htm http://woodsshop.com/Dojo/DojoPlans_000.htm The 20'x30's roof is a low 4:12 pitch, but even so, by using scissor trusses there's 11' 6" headroom inside! Very nice for Weapons Play So, how do I attach an image from my webpage? What did I do wrong? <img src="http://woodsshop.com/Dojo/DojoPlan.htm">

ivica, beautiful minimalist rendering that complements the design. I like both very much, especially the skillful use of a little color as accent. graphically, compositionally and modeling-wise exellent! I can appreciate this since I have been doing PR renders for the last week or so... Regards, [michael]

@frederik said: Hi All, Here's a little "update"... I showed this to one of my friends, who happen to be the owner of a carpenter company... He asked me if I could make a Holiday card with his logo and color... So I did... So I guess you can say that I'm into this holiday card business now... [image: Holidaycard2.jpg] Now that I really like! Adding the plans, hammer, and such, underneath, makes it just fantastic!

John, Thanks for your comments. The shaggy roof you created in Photoshop is great! What a delightful surprise to find on the morning forum check. It's clear a house like this would need one of these with its own little curved-roof charging garage. I've put an early version of the model that corresponds to the image below here. The roof could fairly easily be altered to minimize the soffit by moving a few elements, reintersecting, then copying the new roof and using "paste in place" on the newer walls. Really good! You can even place some low poly planes to get the sense of scale ( william T has some nice low poly planes on the warehouse) I only see one minor problem, the satellite pic on GE shows the airport under construction, so the buildings will look like they are in a midle of a war zone until construction stops and google updates the pics. Keep us posted on your updates!
