so I had this idea to grow a house in the SketchUcation forums... so that we could watch it grow.

here's the idea. I'm going to upload this model of a piece of land. each person will "check out" the model by replying to this thread "Checked Out" then whenever you've added your part, you'll upload the model and post "Checked In" so that the next person can check out the model and know that theirs is the current version. don't do too much, try to keep your work to one industry or section the same way a sub contractor would... example I added land. the next person would build a foundation and another would work on windows and so on... some people may do model clean up and tidying, some may work on textures and styles. don't do too much work because someone may need to undo it later and it will keep the creation group oriented.

this is an idea that will help us see how others are modeling and allow us to create something fun as a group. so who's up for it? if you are then "Check Out" the model.

Cool idea! When I have a moment, I'd like to be part of this experiment... maybe over this weekend. Have you heard of Studio Wikitecture? http://studiowikitecture.wordpress.com/ They set up an interesting system within Second Life that allowed controlled collaboration, voting, and more. Perhaps it might serve as a model for this project, at least at a basic level.

I'm interested to see what this comes to... or if anyone is interested at all.
