We have just made Thea Studio 1.2 and Thea for SketchUp publicly available as a demo version. All of you have now a chance to try the new Field Mapping engine and also Presto GPU running on Nvidia cards.

@vrai said: Hello there !! Kerkythea website has been closed for a while, and I desperately need some stuff from the site for my renderings. Does anyone of you still keep those libraries and would like to share them with me ? Thank you !! http://www.kerkythea.net/cms/index.php/downloads (the site is under rebuild, but some downloads are available) Correct forum links to earlier materials. Keep in mind that the post was from 2008! And sorry, no idea if those posts actually contain anything relevant as the repository is in different location and like said, some materials are still missing. The cool thing about PostScript (the underlying imaging model for pdf) is that it is "resolution independent" because it stores text and diagrams as Geometry. You can scale it up as much as you like, and it will always be totally crisp. However, PostScript (and therefore pdf) can also embed regular pixel images that have a fixed resolution. If you find a pdf that is "fuzzy", in all likelihood, you've simply got a pdf containing an image. And what that means, is you cannot convert it to a (geometric format) like dxf. Adam

Yes, there are lots of good blender tutorials out there. In terms of specifically getting a Sketchup model into Blender, I would suggest using TIG's obj exporter plugin in Sketchup to save your model file into an obj format that will import nicely into Blender.

we do all of our development for V-Ray for SketchUp on Macs. We use windows more than OSX, but we hop back and forth between them. I love this this machine, and have never found a Windows-only mobile device (technically Macs are PCs) that compares to it.

Looks like you might need to ask your question over at the rendado website.

I've never seen this error with V-Ray, if you choose the correct install path, and use default installation options checked.

Hi Tito and all, Wow, I've been exploring a lot of other methods and engines including three.js but your solution with CopperLicht is by far the best I've come across for what I want to do and for what IT CAN DO! Amazing! I too want to use Sketchup generated scenes and have tried and tested CopperCube with its CopperLicht JS engine and couldn't believe how straight foward, quick and easy it is to get it all up and running in the browser! Thanks for the headsup and I'll probably be posting as I progress...

To get grass to show up in your renders, for the standalone plugin, you will need to start Maxwell Fire & go to Engine Settings and set Extensions to Enabled. [image: hHn0_MaxwellFireGrassSettingsEnabled.PNG]

Yes, uploading is the bottleneck. But that's really the end user problem since the farm itself has a very speedy connection to the web. We had a problem downloading our files last week. They gave us a refund so it was solved rather well by Rebus. But the biggest advantage of the farm is incredible speed, this means you can switch on any channels you like along with Multiplight. The mxi file you download can be used to finetune the image and you can safe the image in any format. Great, I never realised before that a renderfarm is the way to go for larger projects that are well paid enough to spend the extra money. What kept me from going there before is that it sounded complicated. But it was actually very simple to set up. Francois

Hi there, John: Perhaps if you could post an image or a .skp of your issue, folks might be able to better visualize a solution. Just as a start, are you making components or groups of your columns, so that they do not interact or affect the circle? Are you specifying the number of segments in the circle or using the program default? Do you use guidelines?

Thanks for the info - thats a lot of help. I do so many hacky little tricks with SU that I've reached a point where I just want solid stuff that works, rather than spending time trying to figure out whats going wrong and where (entirely my fault most of the time) Ash

Ran into the same issue after installing, tried going back to a earlier version of Silverlight but to no avail. But now there is a update to Maxwell Render, appears they have moved away from Silverlight & now supports Sketchup 2013. Here is the link to the Maxwell's website http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=40712&sid=5e2cd8d5040be25d6c31bb6f68b92c4d

I agree... Very good for exterior but it makes few mistakes on interior shots.

As it seems people are at least looking for a download link. Even if it was on a file sharing site or where ever but legal.
