Kwist Have you installed it and had a play? It obviously needs a bit of refining but it lets you walkaround an SU model in realtime, or as an avatar. The movement is very smooth, the shadows aren't good though. I can see the potential for it though. One of the demo files has a model of a pond in it with an animated displacement map of water, but I couldn't work out how they did that.

Hi again, I had problems ın SU Materials so I converted the file to 3ds and imported the whole model in 3D max.. As SU works wıth the hollow objects in 3dmax the faces somehow ımported inside out. That is why the faces appeared to be black when rendered.. The solution of the problem; 1-Converting the faces by modifying all the objects to normal one by one (Takes hell of a time )) 2-Checking the two sided materials In material editor (Which it did not work when I tried it) 3-I would be please to be informed if you know an other way to fix the problem ... PS: This is the comment/answer based on the prior questions above.. Regards ng

Hi! Newbie here! I been testing TS 7.6 few days now. I think it is a great tool for animating things, UI is pretty "complicated". Lots of tutorials though. Older versions like 5 were good for beginners...

Thanks Pete. The soft shadow button will still result in hard shadows for me. Perhaps it's the ambient light/sun light slider that I need to adjust. For the grass, I'm looking for something that I can use for quick residential projects. A short mowed lawn that doesn't appear flat, without taxing render times too much. Do you think creating an ecosystem material would be my best bet? As it will render billboards in the distance, instead of trying to displace an entire lawn.

Hi. Kerkythea has options to make flythru animations. You can setup a lot of things directly inside Sketchup, and if you need some others in Kerkythea itself. Imho its verey a verey interesting option. I would recomend give it another try. Indigo its an interesting option too, and its tuned inside Sketchup. (And if cash its not an issue consider donate a little to the free render engine you choose )

Hi Yanivkin! I had similar problems before. 1rst step is to dubbelcheck that all the files are where there are supposed to be. Plugins etc. Most problems Ive had with Sk2kt comes from that. Its been a pretty stable system so far.

Third approach could be to use php files instead of html files and simply include the one that contains the Hypercosm applet into another one (in case one doesn't want to use iFrames which can be the case sometimes)

I would not use sky with camera view like that. It would be better using background colour. To avoid bright spot like that try to move the origin.

@kwistenbiebel said: They might as well go fully open source with Sketchup, so really funky coding stuff can happen. Amen to that! I was really hoping Google would step up to the plate with this release and show that they had some vision for the software, but version 7, although improved, is not a step towards something better. Google is content with having sketchup be purely a surface modeler with poor integration and inefficient load handling. I was hoping to see an indication with this release, that sketchup would move more towards a quad modeler or at least start to offer things like direct vertex manipulation and subdivision. There are so many great ruby scripts and ideas that could've been taken on by Google's development team and integrated into the software as standard tools, but in the end, there were no new tools whatsoever. Except for automatic line intersecting, which I'd imagine wouldn't take more than a few lines of code to add. So, in the end, the only real solution to the inefficiency dilemma is to have solid third party application that can be strong in the areas that Sketchup is weak. I wouldn't count on Google to provide this solution.

I once read a post on this forum that points to a plugin that fools SU into believing that SU free is SU pro in a limited range of situations. If however this is a Boo Hoo, please forget I mentioned it.

Hey, just found on maxwell forum: Pelias say's: "There is one very important change which is not directly visible though. The handling of transformation matrices was overwritten to solve the issues of Studio compatibility for groups/components. This is a big one - I believe this fixes the issues of objects misplaced in Studio or Studio crashes when loading SU generated MXS files for good." Yeah!

Thanks big for the detailed answer, Solo, I will try to bypass this problem somehow. Though all the same does not converge, put pictures: [image: 3934eb43074ct.jpg] [image: e6c22994f56bt.jpg] Vue simple polygons splits up not for two, and on many triangles, them in 40 it turns out times more (see arrows)....
