      Wow! Most impressive

I haven't downloaded these yet, but I am definitely going to. From the responses posted above, these are commercial grade models that you are giving away for free. Most generous indeed. And I must say that your boys are most fortunate, being taught how to model.

Am definitely going to be making use of these in time to come. Perhaps these should be posted on google warehouse to show how models should be done?

      🤣

    • RE: Lock Groups

makes so much sense to me, I have often wondered why you can't though I suppose logically if it is locked it is locked for all things.

haven't tried this, but what about putting on an turned off layer?

    • RE: How does this window work? ;)

you guys are giving me a headache just thinking about this

could have sworn that Renderplus or one of those tools had a multi-line wall, just trying to think where I imagined I saw it

what amazes me is that google haven't co-opted a lot of these scripts as "standard" functionality. I sometimes wonder if there is a reluctance to make google too powerful (I know the idea of sketchup is to be simple) but everywhere I turn people are not using it for "simple"

    • RE: Google's involvement with SCF

I have to say that I am glad to learn that the sketchup devs do frequent this forum - as someone mentioned earlier this is severely lacking from the giants. The ultimate responsiveness would be the developers of Cockos Reaper (music production software). They are active on the forums and respond quite quickly in terms of developing features or at least explaining why they will be focusing on something more important. Suspect that this sort of answer would at least let Solo know when they might address this or if as suggested it is too big a task for the foreseeable future

Regarding blender, ah yes.......I have downloaded and installed and uninstalled. Did manage to follow a tutorial that allowed me to turn a sphere into a heart and then do a basic render.

Just that sketchup would introduce some decent animation path functionality. Took a look at Truespace (but since they no longer offer a format converter to bring in and export CAD friendly files.......) but man they have nice camera tools......

    • RE: Another free AutoCAD alternative: A9CAD

ah yes that pesky "corrupt" or unopenable file situation. recently tried out an intellicad 2009 version that would not open a fie that is otherwise working fine in my 2008 release. Go figure

yeah just mentioned double cad since it has saved me spending cash on some sort of file export for cad, you gotta love the recent developments in low cost CAD alternatives. And when they come out free for ANY USE as opposed to say free for non-commercial (and what is non commercial exactly?) then I am getting really really excited about the future of electronic drawing and art

BIG SHOUT TO GOOGLE for making a free sketchup too!

and there is another one too DoubleCAD, which opens sketchup files directly, great if you need to transfer sketchup files into DWG.

it doesn't seem to be too bad as a 2d cad package either

    • RE: [Plugin] Zorro2 (beta)

hi there all, bit of a lurker on the forum

But I have to shout major kudos to whaat! You have just saved me mucha mulah! I was thinking about selling my car or something to purchase IRenderXT just to be able to render cut-away views eg 3d plans. As someone said earlier, too much hassel to creat cut sections and then delete what I don't need to take things into Kerkythea. Now hey it is simple as, well I don't think it gets much simpler

One thing though, I can get the section cut through model part working - the major bonus for me. But I literally only get a zoro entry in the tools drop down. According to your screen shots there seem to be some submenus and such, but none of that here. XP SP3 SketchUP 7 free. (Since discovering DoubleCAD I no longer need the pro file exports to go to CAD)

Anyway, a million thanks for something this useful and powerful
