Thank you. I did take a look at the Fine Woodworking site. I agree, Dave has been a big help. I've taken a look at some of his other posts and found help there also. I getting free advice from some prestigious people here. So far, my first association with a forum has been positive.

I used half size cinder block, running bond pattern, with a bond beam on top. It works, but it kills my old PC. [image: gs-005.jpg] [image: gs-006.jpg] [image: gs-007.jpg]

HI, As an Adobe user, I am asking the same question. Where is the alignment window like in AI? What is I have a bunch of elements (> 50) oriented in random direction? How to align them by their "center of gravity"? How to get them all separated by the same distance? How to have them aligned on the superior top of their shape (whatever the shape)? Most important of all, how to control alignment and distance for a several element at a time, without ruler, line or any manual technic? I am looking for a select/clic technic. I am not talking about the same objects (or arrays). I already watched that video, thank. In my case, all the objects could be different, either in 2D or 3D. Thank you for your help. logicalnot

A lot of people dont use those forums, so they were separated in to optional forums. You can sign up to them by going to the UCP (top left corner of your screen)->usergroups->select the ones you want->click 'sign up' at the bottom of the page.

If you set the profile thickness to 1 (which will equal to the edge thickness) than there is no purpose of the profiles at all - in this case you can even uncheck them totally. This would even enhance the performance of SU eventually (especially with bigger models of course).

@galbavy1 said: if you want it around a perimeter of a face Unfortunately there are many times when it is not a simple face I want to use the follow me tool on. But when that is the case, this tip does help. Glad it helped, and muito obrigado for the Mac help Edson. I can never remember how the keys correspond. Chris

Generally "face" must be perpendicular to the line start So rotate it, Select the path, then click the surface Of course depending of the form of the path and the profil of the surface intersections can be produced Here the path is also built with some segments of lines, you must weld them with a plugin before Weld.rbby R Wilson Crossings is of course source of problem If you want skin you can use this Skin22by D Belvin [image: BYTD_exp.jpg]

I think it's just the "labels" getting lost. If I open up my Music Files and have the file open, then click on the open Sketchup, then hover over the Music Files at the bottom of my screen, then a label appears pretty much exactly like yours. The label in mine appears at the bottom of the screen and I just think yours is appearing randomly for some reason. [image: screen10kd9.jpg] [image: screen10kd9.74b63e7324.jpg]

Main thing is to turn off prospective and use the standard views. Look at this page; select Printing to see the tutorial. http://sketchup.google.com/gsu5vtviewer.html#id=24

Are you clicking the 'submit' button in the bottom right hand corner, after youve selected the woodworking usergroup? Once youve been signed up, it should show up in the forum index.

The shape is called a torus. You can make it or any other circular symmetrical object by centering a profile on a circular path. It doesn't have to be in contact or even the same size...just share the centre of rotation. Then you simply select the circular path and click on the profile with the Follow Me Tool. It's called lathing. If you only want a partial lathe, not the full 360 degrees then you can manually drag the profile around the path with the Follow Me tool. You have to be careful when doing this, though, because of the way that SU calculates the change of course between the segments on the circle. You can end up with a face that isn't orientated at the angle you expected it to be. It's often easier to do the full 360 then delete the section you don't want...either directly, or after having done an Intersect with a "negative" shape. [image: pFO1_lathing.jpg] lathing.skp

Problem Solved. Just down loaded SU pro from google again and ticked the repair option, works fine now. Stan
