You will get this whenever more than one face occupy the same plane. If you want to show alternatives, you have to put the face (and edges) in a group and assign to a layer, put the conflicting alternate face in a group and assign to a different layer. Make the layer setup for each scene hide the ones you don't wish to see. (If that makes any sense.) You might group all the interior wall surfaces for each scene together. Either erase or hide that portion of GE terrain that lies under your carpet, or raise the floor above the GE image. Is the floor really exactly at ground level? It may be that the interior scene you are showing doesn't need the GE image layer on at all. If this is not the answer, please post a model file.

Ha, I forgot about this plugin. Jim, this plugin is where I first "met" you. Probably one of the first ones I downloaded. I completely forgot about it. That's all.

You don't apply materials to an image (which is a texture itself). And the side wall textures are part the Match Photo image, they aren't a separate texture. What you might do is create a new material that looks like them and apply that to the faces in the model. In GIMP I have sampled, warped part of a Match Photo texture and applied that as a tiled texture in a model (don't tell anyone). But you might just start with a new wall material and adjust it to match the color and texture in the photo. In your Match Photo scene, Use the Style window, and edit the style. Go to the "Modeling" tab (last blue one) and turn off the foreground photo under "Match Photo". That will show you the materials you've applied to the faces while in the Match Photo scene. If you want to project the photo onto the model faces, Dave has done that, I think.

Get current view was until version 7. Now there is add location - you can access it from the file menu, the GE Toolbar or the Window menu > Model info > Location tab. It will open a built-in GE browser where you need to go (and zoom) to your location, select the area and import that into SU. It will import a colour image now but the downside is that you cannot import your overlay image from GE.

@dave r said: Clean modeling as you go will pay off in the long run and you'll pay for sloppy modeling eventually. I really can't tell much from your PDF but I do see what look like some exposed back faces to the side of the arch and they should be addressed. I'd bet that arch has way more segments than it needs. I can't tell if its some artifact in the PDF but if the poch roof has a bit of a dome shape to it, it looks like there are many more segments in those arcs than you need. thank you for all of your help i went back and purged the components on everything and reloaded all of my components and now it works i was able to get it on the model and now i can see how its supposed to loook thank you again

Hi, My recomendation is to try to portrait the damage of the existing model with painted textures first using 'Photoshop' and then you can add definition with modeling. Be sure to search google warehouse to see how other people are making this types of models but above all check the 'Gallery' and 'WIP' on sketchUcation because I have seen some advance stuff there. If you want constructive feedback make you own 'WIP' thread to show the progress of your work. Cheers!

Well, SketchUp wasn't designed to do what you're doing with it. Maybe, as I said before, they'll incorporate this feature into the next pro version.

TIG, thanks for making the sectioncutface plugin and allowing us to download it for free. I am a bit of a cry baby sometimes, especially when a process doesn't work immediately. So, sorry about that. Never mind, thanks or thanking. TIG is indeed exceptionally generous with his plugins
